Y/n's POV

I wasn't used to sleeping in a room with other people. It was freezing and the cabin had very few blankets for everyone. There were two girls' rooms and two boys' rooms for the week. I was assigned to the room with Mari and Sarah. Unfortunately for me, there wasn't anything making ambient noise to help me fall asleep. Sarah snored a bit and there were constant creaks coming from the walls.

I picked up my phone to check the time. One forty-three. I'd been tossing and turning for nearly three hours. I finally decided that I wouldn't be able to sleep for the night. The floor moved under me as I arose from the bed. I did my best not to make too much noise. Mari and Sarah needed their sleep.

Someone left the hall lights on, making it easy for me to navigate my way through the upstairs level of the cabin. I remembered the fireplace in the living room. I planned to turn it on and warm myself up while killing time until morning.

The fireplace wasn't too complicated. It was electric, so all I needed to do was turn a couple of knobs and it clicked on. While it warmed up, I wandered around the kitchen, searching through the many snacks we'd bought before arriving. I found an unopened box of hot cocoa mix beside the Keurig. Behind the box, there was a giant bag of mini marshmallows. I thought I was in heaven.

I scrambled to find a small pot, still trying to stay quiet. Even though the Keurig was faster and easier to use, I wanted a quality cup of cocoa to enjoy during my all-nighter. I grabbed the milk jug from the fridge and poured it into the pot, putting the heat on low. There was a canister of kitchen utensils with holiday-themed designs. The utensils clinked as I took a smaller wooden spoon out. I placed it across the top of the pot and ripped open one of the hot cocoa mix packets. Small puffs of cocoa power flared up as I dumped it into the warm milk.

I hummed to myself as I started to stir the mixture. There was a buzz in my pocket. I grabbed my phone from my pocket to see an Instagram notification. Might as well keep myself entertained.

Anthony's POV

I woke up for the third time in the past hour. I was getting frustrated with not being able to stay asleep. I picked up my phone from under my pillow and checked the time. It was almost two in the morning. Hoping that getting up and doing something would tire me, I got out of bed. Ian and Shayne were deep sleepers, so I didn't worry about making noise.

I noticed that the hall lights were still on and there were quiet noises coming from the kitchen. As I entered the living room, I noticed that the fireplace was on. Someone else was awake.

There was a soft humming coming from the kitchen. Y/n. My body relaxed from the sudden tenseness that had built up. I moved over to her. I slowly wrapped my arms around her waist and rested my head on her shoulder.

"Ah!" She jumped and turned around. Her emotions changed when she realized it was me. "Christ, Anthony. You scared me." She playfully hit me on the arm and smiled.

"Sorry, sorry. What are you doing up at two in the morning?" I brushed some of her flyaway hairs out of her face.

"I could ask you the same thing." She sighed. "I'm guessing you couldn't sleep. I couldn't either. I had to get out of the room."

"Me too. I'm not surprised that we think alike." I chuckle. "What are you making?"

She turns back around to the stove. I wrap my arms around her waist again and look over her shoulder.

"Hot cocoa. I made enough for two if you'd like some."

"I'd love some," I hum in her ear. I plant a few kisses on the back of her neck before pulling away. I open a couple of cabinets, looking for two mugs for us. In the third cabinet I open, I find an abundance of different mugs, every one themed after a different holiday. I grab two snowmen mugs and place them on the kitchen island behind Y/n. She watches.

"Awe, those are cute." Her smile is adorable. The knob on the stove clicks as she turns the heat off.

"You got it?" I watch as her wrist wobbles as she picks up the small pot of cocoa.

"Would you mind pouring it? I don't want to risk spilling it." She sounds sheepish as she places the pot back down.

"Yeah, I got it, baby." She moves out of the way for me to pour our drinks. I carefully grab the hot pot and fill each mug, leaving room for toppings. Y/n opened the fridge and grabbed a can of whipped cream and I put the empty pot into the sink, running some cold water in it to cool it down.

"Wan sum?" She asked. I looked at her and her mouth was filled to the brim with whipped cream. I laughed at her. I nodded in response. She held the can up to me and the can made a hissing sound as she squirted it in my mouth. As I ate it, she put whipped cream on top on both of our drinks and grabbed the marshmallows from behind me. We took turns sprinkling the marshmallows in our drinks and shoving more into our mouths.

"Do you want to sit in front of the fire?" I asked. She agreed through the wall of marshmallows in her mouth.

I placed our mugs on the coffee table and unfolded the blanket that was draped over the couch. Y/n sat down beside me. I wrapped the blanket around her first then myself. We grabbed our cocoas and started to sip on them.

"Why couldn't you sleep?" I asked her. I watch as she takes a swig of her drink before speaking.

"I can't stop thinking about some of the comments I saw from our last video." She rubbed her face in frustration. I cocked my head at her and thought about what video she was talking about. I realized that it was a sketch video where she and I kissed. A few weeks beforehand, we'd announced that we were together. She and I had been dating for over a year, but we finally made an official announcement a month or two ago.

"What comments?" I drank the last of my drink and turned towards her. I started to get concerned about what she read.

"It was just some backlash on us being together. Some of them called me ugly and others called me not talented. I dunno, it's just been stressing me out."

"Sweetheart," I placed a hand on her cheek. "You know none of that is true. They're probably just people who have nothing better to do with their lives. Now, come here. Let's forget about that and enjoy the fire."

Narrator's POV

Ian and Shayne woke up around the same time the next morning. They discussed the day ahead as they traveled down the hallway.

"Looks like someone forgot to turn these lights off," Ian groaned. He entered the kitchen. Shayne looked confused as he scanned over the living room. He yawned.

"Dammit." Ian rolled his eyes. Shayne turned around to see what he was complaining about.

"What?" Shayne asked.

"Someone got into the cocoa and marshmallows I bought," he whined. A single cough came from the couch in the living room. Shayne and Ian exchanged looks before moving to the couch. They chuckled at the sight.

Anthony and Y/n were still sound asleep on the couch. Anthony was lying down on his back with Y/n lying on top of him. His arm was hanging off of the couch, as was Y/n's leg.

"I guess we know who got into the cocoa."
