The next afternoon November 1st 1981, James Potter came storming into the living room ranting about nosey neighbors and the Ministry. James had been joyfully boastful about his son's new title as the Boy-Who-Lived whenever anyone asked after his family. Never once did he speak of his Daughter that day. Even when everyone kept asking after her welfare too. After getting thouroughly annoyed with everyone asking after his daughter, he snapped. "Well of course she's alive! Her big brother saved her didn't he?!"
He was quite confused, his son was the hero of the wizarding world. What's the point in mentioning his daughters survival, when her brother also saved the rest of the Wizarding world, not just her?! Upon getting home, he was shocked to see Padfoot laying on the floor with little Morgana tucked against his side, and she was looking sadly at her mother.
Seeing James, Lily got up with Anthony in her arms making her way over. "Hey, say hi to Daddy sweetheart." James smiled and waved, taking his boy from her "He was such a good boy today James. Oh, I still can't believe how powerful our boy is!" The redhead gushed as she make her way to the kitchen to start making dinner. Seeing that she was out of hearing range, Padfoot immediately turned back, a cold rage in his eyes. "What happened Pads?" James asked, completely oblivious to his daughters tears as he passed by her.
"What happened Prongs, is your wife. I came to check on the kids after last night. I got here, and I couldn't find Morgie anywhere! I asked Lily, she only hummed at me, before saying she didn't know!" Sirius began ranting. "I went upstairs, she was in her crib, in dirty clothes, soiled panties, with filth and grime from last night!! She was crying for food and a drink she didn't eat anything until I got here 2 hours ago Prongs! She went almost 24 hours without food, because Lily FORGOT HER!"
James knew Sirius was pissed. He was a little annoyed that his best mate was making a bigger fuss over the child they didn't even know they were having, than the amazing son that had saved their world; but he knew he couldn't say that. "So what do you want me to do Pads? Lily had her priorities with our son. You got here, so now Morgana is fine."
Sirius couldn't believe what he was hearing. Whoever this was in front of him couldn't be the James he knew. It just couldn't. Biting his tongue, not wanting to start a fight with the children here, Sirius helped to get Morgana set up at the table for dinner before turning to head home. He had a horrible feeling in his gut that something was going to go terribly wrong for his heir.
After dinner that night, Dumbledore came for a visit to 'Discuss how to proceed' he had said. Stepping out of the floo, his manic twinkle was back. The youngest Potter twin was powerful, and if he played his cards right, he'd be able to turn her into his pawn, and claim her power as his own.
After a long discussion about Anthony and his future training, Dumbledore broached the topic he'd come for. "There is one other thing I wish to speak of. I feel it would be best to send little Morgana away." James seemed seemed to be deep in thought, while Lily looked indifferent. "I truly believe it would be better. For both her and Anthony. You can take her back when she is old enough to join Hogwarts." Nodding their heads, both Lily and James agreed that their priority should be Anthony, and that Morgana would be better off elsewhere. James stayed with the headmaster and the children while Lily went to pack a bag for her only daughter.
"Where will you place her sir?" James asked. While he knew that Anthony was his main concern, he did love his daughter dearly too. Even if he didn't realize he was hurting her. Looking solemn, Dumbledore shook his head lightly. "I am afraid I can't tell you that my boy. I don't want to risk her safety should anyone else know where she will be. Regardless of who they are. It is for the greater good." Nodding sadly in understanding, James knelt by his little girl.
Looking at her father Morgana knew. There was something wrong, his aura felt murky and gross, nowhere near the warmth she used to get. Lily's had changed towards her gradually over the last few months, but her Daddy's had always stayed the same until last night. "I'll miss you, my little Fawn. I promise I'll bring you home, as soon as I can." Finally seeing the tears in her eyes, James scooped her up, and held her close with Anthony in the other arm. Dumbledore watched in frustration as his compulsions on James started to lose their strength. It seemed he was fighting them without realizing they were there.
