Dear Professor McGonagall,
You were the one to inspire myself and many others to stand whenever the need called, to defend our own like a lioness, and to sass anyone who dares to presume they're better than everyone else.
You taught us the art of being strong, and brave. You taught us that there is nothing, that gives a student the right to wander about at night, and that we will be punished with more nightly excursions.
You taught us transfiguration and how to not besmirch our house names like bambling, bumbling, bands of baboons.
You were a true queen among the lives of many and you will be forever missed.
May you rest peacefully, (Or as much as you can when you have to deal with the marauders and Fred Weasley together...), and may you always know that you were beloved by all.
Rest in peace, Dame Maggie Smith.
Thank you for everything, every lesson, every character you brought to life, every childhood memory you blessed so many with. Thank you, for simply being.
With love, the many hearts you touched.
ALWAYS
