As the autumn leaves swirled in the cool October breeze, Hogwarts was cloaked in an atmosphere of anticipation. The day before Halloween, a time usually filled with excitement and preparations for the grand feast, held a different significance for Morgana and Anthony. October 30th marked a solemn anniversary—the day before the Dark Lord’s attack in 1981, the day their lives had irrevocably changed, and the last day Morgana had truly enjoyed with her born family.

Morgana stood by the window in the Slytherin common room, gazing out at the depths of the lake, the golden hues of the setting sun streaming through the water. Her mind was a storm of memories and emotions. The anniversary always brought a mix of sorrow and gratitude. It was the day she and Anthony were torn from each other, but it also marked the beginning of her time with the Founders, a chapter that had profoundly shaped her.

Anthony entered the common room, -since he had Morgana's permission as she I the Slytherin Queen- his expression mirroring Morgana’s introspection. He walked over to his sister, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Hey,” he said softly. “How are you holding up?”

Morgana turned to face him, her eyes reflecting a mix of strength and vulnerability. “I’m managing. It’s always a bit hard, but I’m grateful for where we are now.”

Anthony nodded, his eyes filled with understanding. “Yeah, it’s a lot to process every year. But we’ve come a long way since then.”

They stood in silence for a moment, drawing strength from each other’s presence. The memories of that fateful night were etched deeply in her mind —Dumbledore’s curse on Tom, the chaos, and the eventual rescue that brought Morgana to the Founders.

“I was thinking,” Anthony began, breaking the silence, “maybe we could visit the Founders’ portraits tonight. Share our thoughts with them.”

Morgana’s expression brightened slightly at the suggestion. “I’d like that. It always helps to talk to them, especially on days like this.”

As night fell, the siblings made their way to the hidden sanctuary chamber where the Founders’ portraits resided for now. The room was a sanctuary within the sanctuary, a place of solace and wisdom. The flickering torches cast a warm glow on the ancient portraits, bringing them to life.

Salazar Slytherin’s eyes twinkled with a mix of pride and affection as he saw Morgana and Anthony enter. “My dear Morgana, Anthony. What brings you to us tonight?”

Morgana stepped forward, her voice steady. “It’s the eve of the anniversary of the attack that changed our lives. We wanted to talk to you, to share our thoughts and feelings.”

Godric Gryffindor, ever the passionate one, leaned forward in his frame. “You’ve grown so much since then. We’re always here for you, ready to listen.”

Morgana and Anthony shared their memories, their struggles, and their triumphs since that fateful night. The Founders listened intently, offering words of comfort and guidance. Rowena Ravenclaw’s wisdom shone through her serene demeanor. “You’ve faced great adversity, but you’ve emerged stronger and wiser. Remember that your bond is your greatest strength.”

Helga Hufflepuff’s kindness radiated from her portrait. “You’ve both shown immense courage and resilience. Trust in each other, and trust in yourselves.”

As the conversation flowed, Morgana felt a sense of peace wash over her. The Founders’ presence was a reminder that she was never alone, no matter how daunting the challenges ahead might seem.

Salazar’s gaze lingered on Morgana, his expression thoughtful. “Remember, Morgana, you have the strength of all four of us within you. Use it wisely.”
