Morgana woke up super early, the enchanted clock by her bedside softly chiming 5:30 a.m. She slipped out of bed quietly, not wanting to wake Pansy and Daphne, her dorm-mates. Padding to the bathroom, she indulged in a long, hot shower, the warmth waking her up fully. As the water cascaded over her, she mentally prepared for the day ahead, her excitement palpable.
After drying off, she carefully brushed her floor-length hair, reapplying the glamour that kept it looking manageable and sleek. The complex charm always took a few minutes, but the results were worth it. With her hair taken care of, she dressed quickly, choosing her neatly pressed Hogwarts uniform. She checked her bottomless feather-light shoulder bag, ensuring it held all her schoolbooks, parchment, and quills.
Before leaving, she scribbled a quick note for Pansy and Daphne, sticking it to Pansy's bedpost where they'd easily find it.
Gone early to meet Anthony. See you at breakfast! - Morgana
She slipped out of the Slytherin common room at 6:45, the castle still quiet and peaceful in the early morning light. Making her way to the Gryffindor entrance, she leaned against the wall to wait for Anthony. The corridors were still, with only the occasional portrait stirring and muttering.
Anthony arrived soon after, looking slightly groggy but smiling when he saw Morgana. "Morning," he greeted, adjusting his bag on his shoulder.
"Good morning," Morgana replied cheerfully. "Ready for the first day?"
Anthony nodded, though there was a flicker of concern in his eyes. "I just hope we don't run into any issues with the staff about sitting together at breakfast."
Morgana gave him a reassuring smile. "I'll talk to one of our Professors. They should be reasonable, and I don't foresee any problems. Let's go."
The siblings made their way down the corridors, eventually meeting up with their Slytherin friends near the entrance to the Great Hall. Draco, Blaise, Theo, Daphne, Pansy, Vincent, and Gregory greeted them with a mix of yawns and excited chatter.
The Great Hall was already buzzing with the usual morning chatter when Morgana and Anthony arrived for breakfast, their Slytherin friends in tow. Spotting Hermione and Neville at the Ravenclaw table, they made their way over, earning curious glances from other students. The long Ravenclaw table was an odd mix of blue, green, with a splash of yellow and red, a striking display of inter-house unity.
"Is it really okay for us all to sit together like this?" Anthony asked her again. If it was just the two of them, he didn't see much issue, they were twins. Naturally they would want to sit together, but all of them like this? He wanted his sister to be sure.
Morgana leaned over to Anthony, her voice low but excited. "Remember what I told you about the rules? We're technically allowed to sit wherever we want, but with Dumbledore in charge now, I should probably ask Professor Flitwick to make sure."
Anthony nodded, his eyes scanning the hall for the small, cheerful head of Ravenclaw. "Better safe than sorry."
As if on cue, Professor Flitwick appeared, bustling past with a stack of books. Morgana caught his attention, waving him over with a polite smile. "Professor Flitwick, may I ask you something?"
Flitwick's eyes twinkled as he approached, looking up at the young girl who already showed signs of becoming an exceptional witch. "Of course, Miss Potter-Black. What can I do for you?"
"We were wondering," Morgana began, gesturing to the mixed group of students, "if it's allowed for us to sit together at different house tables during meals. We thought it might be nice to rotate which table we sit at each meal, so that we could all still sit together, while also making friends within our own and other houses."
