"If yous are ever wondering what life is like for me, two weeks before the French open begins" I say, flipping around the camera "well I'm currently sitting on the ground of a tennis court picking out wallpaper with an absolute idiot""You know SunShine, a lot of people love doing this work" Lewis responds, not lifting his head to look away from the books in front of him
"Yes, and that's why I hire those people to do this work for me. You know Lewis everyone's entitled to act stupid every once and a while but you really abuse the privilege"
"Hey Delaney" he said, now looking up at me and leaning into me
"What"
"The village called, they want their idiot back, so you better get to walking"
"What are you seven?"
"What are you ten?"
"On a scale from one to ten, yes, thanks for the compliment"
It was a Monday, and Lewis once again thought it would be a good idea to stop by my rental after Monaco.
Only this time he didn't come alone. He brought books and piles of wallpaper clippings and said he needed my help asap to help pick out a wallpaper design for a wall in his restaurant because they're putting it up tomorrow and he's still not sure. I would have made him leave then and there if he hadn't brought his dog with him, Roscoe
How can it be that the worst people have the best dogs. Roscoe is absolutely adorable, he's a bulldog and one of the most friendly dogs I've ever met.
I myself have three dogs, but I had to give them to my neighbour for the year because I knew I'd be travelling around the world so often this year and I wanted to make sure they're happy and not upset at the fact I'm coming and going constantly. I do miss them terribly, along with all the other animals I have back in Australia.
Lewis had won yesterday, which definitely didn't sit well with Daniel because Monaco was his favourite track, he loved winning there even more than any other track. It also meant that now Lewis was up by 15 points in the championship.
I also hadn't forgotten about the camera Netflix had given me, when they told me to film as much as I could. I still haven't decided what to do about the movie deal, and to be honest, I don't think I'm going to take it.
"I still don't understand why you drove all this way to get my help with wallpaper" I said, flipping a page in the book
"Because I thought I had it picked out but then yesterday I realised how disgusting it was so I need to pick another one. And you happen to be the only other person I know that has...somewhat good style"
"Thanks for the somewhat compliment"
"I like this one" he said, handing me a cut out of a navy blue with little starlings flying across it in a darker blue shade. Don't worry, the whole restaurant wasn't being covered in this, only the back wall, it'll work more as an accent wall.
"What colour is the rest of the restaurant being painted?" I asked, taking the fabric out of his hand to look at it
"White, with a lot of green accents"
"And you want to throw navy in there?" I ask
"You're right" he sighs, taking the fabric back
This was so fucking weird.
Us two.
Sitting here.
Being together.
Like what the hell.
