Martin: I'm cleaning my glasses over here, disbelieving what I'm seeing. Liam Black just beat Wimbledon champion Bartek Plu in the quarterfinals of the US Open?

Brent: I wouldn't just say he beat him.
Black demolished him. It was embarrassing for Plu. He's ranked two in the world, and Black took him down hard.

Rachel: That last serve was simply stunning.

Martin: Let's get into Black's serve, I want to talk about that. It wasn't official, but there's been talk over this past year that Liam Black was being coached by the late Marco Riccardo. Have either of you heard anything about this?

Rachel: I have, yes. We've been seeing Delaney Riccardo and Liam Black together a lot these past few months. There's been a lot of assumptions that they are dating. But after the whole Lewis thing, the internet has since decided that Delaney is dating Lewis. And so, many people have changed their view to the fact that maybe Delaney and Liam were more so, getting coached by the same coach rather than dating

Brent: I mean, we know Delaney and Lewis are dating, and if they're not, then Delaney is dating Liam, no doubt about it.

Jones: No one has confirmed anything

Martin: I don't need anyone to confirm for me that two plus two equals four.

Rachel: [laughs] There are many people who say Liam and Marco Riccardo were working together before the French Open. So it stands to reason they may have still been working together when Marco passed away just a few weeks ago.

Martin: So maybe Marco Ricciardo is behind this turn in Liam Black?

Rachel: Maybe he was.

Martin: He certainly did beautiful work with Delaney Ricciardo didn't he?

Rachel: Martin you know better than to get me started. Delaneys form, the ways he plays tennis, it's the most beautiful thing on earth. She's elegance personified. There has never, and I doubt there ever will be a player as graceful as her.

Martin: And that's all of Marco Riccardo's fabulous coaching. He truly did a fantastic job

Rachel: That he did. And let's take a moment, if we can. We all expect greatness from Delaney, but she's just lost her uncle, she's lost her coach. And now we are on the eve of the semifinals and she's handily defeated every single opponent in front of her. That includes Moretan, who she beat in the quarterfinals just a few hours ago today.

Brent: She's shown a lot of heart this tournament.

Rachel: Marco Riccardo was a great coach, a coach for the ages. And I think we're seeing that in this tournament. I think we are seeing, in Liam Black and Delaney Riccardo what Marco Riccardo was best at. The "beautiful fundamentals," as he would say.

Martin: Well said, Rachel. You're absolutely right.
