61. | The Charity Ball Part 1

"Every single dam time Delaney" Daniel says through gritted teeth

"And every single dam time you get freaked out and panicked and we always make it on time, don't we?" I say as I try to put my earrings through my ear

"Yes but this time we're seriously late"

Tonight was the night of the world famous charity ball. Every year it's held in Paris, right beside the Eiffel tower and while it's hosted by F1, anyone that is anyone wants a ticket to attend. It's one of the most high profile nights of glamour in Paris.

And Daniel was a little stressed to say the least, knowing that he'd be centre of attention tonight when celebrities from every corner of the world would be attending tonight.

"Dan calm down, she's almost ready" Heidi said from where she was sitting at the bottom of my bed.

Heidi looked stunning, she was dressed in a floor length red gown, her hair was tied to the back of her head but little bits of hair framed her face.

Daniel was just wearing a suit with a black tie, boring

I'd invited Tasha as my plus one, after Marco said he wanted to stay in and rest. Tasha too looked amazing, she was wearing an almost golden pantsuit, her hair was out in its natural Afro style, and her makeup looked amazing.

"It's starts at eight, we can't be late" Daniel says

"And we could not, would not want to wait" I say

"Delaney Honey, we will leave without you" Tasha said

"You would never" I said with a smile, as I finally got my earring to go in my ear.

"The cars downstairs, along with hundreds of people -" Daniel said but was cut off by a knock on the door.

"I'll get it" Heidi called and I could hear her heels on the marble floor as she walked over to the door

I couldn't hear what they were saying, but a few words were exchanged before I heard the door close.

"It's for you" Heidi says, walking into the bathroom

"Me?" I say, confused

I looked away from the mirror where I was struggling to put my other earring in, I placed the diamonds down on the counter to face Heidi.

She held out a flat sort of box, it was the size of an A4 page nearly and it had a little piece of white card stuck to the top of it.

"He just said he had a delivery for Delaney Ricciardo" Heidi shrugged, handing me the box, which I took

I placed the box down onto the counter, snapping off the piece of card and flipping it over, sure enough there was writing scrawled across the back of it. It said:

I heard that diamonds are a girls best friend,
Enjoy the dress Sunshine

Apprehensively, I placed the note back onto the counter, and opened up the box.

Sure enough, a diamond necklace was sitting there, sparkling in the bathroom lighting. But it wasn't just any diamond necklace, it was a layer one. There was three different pieces, each one was as stunningly beautiful as the last.

"Oh my god" Heidi said breathlessly from beside me

"What?" Daniel said, coming quickly into the room "holy shit" he cursed, spotting the necklace "where the fuck did that come from?"
