The night continued............slowly.

It was actually relatively fun. Me and Tasha stuck together for the night, and every once and a while some random person would approach us and chat to us for a while, who we'd later find out is actually some huge celebrity.

We eventually were able to get out of the ballroom and spent the rest of the night wondering around the giant rooms full of artwork.

The night was a huge success. They raised millions of dollars for charity and everyone was smiling the whole night, which is always a good sign.

I found myself standing at the bottom of the steps of the building, where the paparazzi and the red carpet had been earlier, by myself.

Tasha was staying in a different hotel to me, I was staying in the one with all the tennis stars and she was staying in one she could get last

But the taxis were coming quick enough. One had come and she wanted me to take it, but I quickly pushed her in and closed the door. Leaving me alone.

I didn't feel unsafe or anything. The street was brightly light, the lights from the red carpet earlier were all still on. And the music from inside was still going, I could hear it clearly from where I was standing.

But the cold was the problem. You see these dresses done provide a whole lot of heat, and if I thought the weather was bad during the day, it was nothing compared to how cold it gets during the night. I was standing there, shivering slightly from the cold of the night.

"Delaney-" a voice said as someone came to stand beside me

"How do you do that!" I yelled, turning to face Lewis "how do you always just fucking show up! I don't think I've ever once began a conversation with you that wasn't because you had snuck up on me"

"It's a gift" he said, shrugging and smiling at me

"Well I think it's time to retire the gift, you're so lucky I'm in heels right now. Cause had I been in runners you'd so be on the ground right now"

"Mhm" he said, smiling larger "I don't doubt that. Did you know you're a very scary human being Delaney"

"It's been mentioned to me once or twice before" I mumbled, turning back to face the road "what are you even doing here. I really can't handle another bitch off between you and Daniel"

"I'm here to get a taxi to my hotel" he said, saying it like it's the most obvious thing in the world. Because of course it is, why else would someone be standing here for at this time.

"What hotel are you staying in?" I asked

"How very forward of you Delaney Ricciardo, fancy a visit?"

"Absolutely not" I scoffed "it's called making conversation while we're both standing here freezing our asses off"

"You've never been one for, making conversation" He said, suddenly moving around

"You've got me there"

"Here" he said, slipping his oversized jacket off his arms and down his back before he held it out to me.

I eyed the jacket suspiciously "I'm not about to take your jacket"

"Are you too good for custom Dior Ricciardo?"

"No, but I'm still not taking your jacket" I say, crossing my arms, but that was more a way to attempt to bring myself some warmth.

It didn't work.

"Don't think I'm doing this because I like you Ricciardo. I'm giving you my jacket because I don't want you to get sick"
