Part 65

*Danielle's POV*

I'm worried about Valentina, she's been working herself to the ground ever since she found out her father has cancer and he doesn't have long left.

She said that the doctors gave him 3-5 years which in my opinion is still enough time but she said only this week will be hectic, and that everything will be back in normal, well I hope so.

"What are you so sad about?" Ethan asks me as we are sitting in Ben's bedroom.

"Nothing" I shrug.

"It's obviously Valentina, what she isn't giving you enough time?" Ben teases, he meant it as a joke but I don't laugh.

"Oh shit, I'm sorry Dani" he quickly says.

"It's okay I just miss her" I admit, I miss her like crazy, and it wasn't even a week since this, I'm just pathetic and in love.

"I'm sure she will soon have you guys some awesome date planned again" Ethan says, yeah he kind of found out what's the deal with me and Valentina but I don't mind, if Ben trusts him I do too.

Then an idea struck me, I get my phone out and write Valentina.

Me: Hey everything okay?

We always talk everyday I usually check up on her, but she checks up on me too, she also writes everyday so I know she is thinking of me and misses me, it means a lot to me because I know she is really busy but she still takes the time out of her day.

Valentina: Hi darling, I'm holding up, what about you?

She asks, I'm already smiling, I swear she could just exist and I would be smiling forever.

Me: I had an idea, would you like to go on a date with me?

I ask the question, she always takes me out on dates and now I want to be the one doing it.

Valentina: You know I would go anywhere with you, when did you have in mind?

Me: Would tonight be okay? I know you are busy so it's okay if not

Valentina: I'm never busy for you, tonight it is.

My cheeks hurt from smiling, she didn't even fight me on this.

Me: Okay I'll be at your house at 8.

I flop back down on the mattress and smile.

"So I was right about that date right?" Ethan teases, I roll my eyes.

"Sure you were" I say "I have the most amazing almost- girlfriend" I say, yeah that's what I call her, she said she wanted to wait, her reasoning was valid so I don't mind waiting, also I'm graduating in a week so it doesn't bother me that much.

"I have to go guys" I say standing up "We'll talk" I wave to them before I head home.

I'm heading over to Valentina's house now, my outfit is pretty usual, I have a skirt and white t shirt on, my favorite white bow in my hair.

I arrive and step into the house, Valentina said she'd leave the door unlocked for me so I can come in.

I hear yelling in the bedroom "No, I don't care about that, you get it done" she says "Oh you are under a lot of pressure? I can't imagine what that's like, quit your excuses and get it done, adiós" she says before she hangs up the phone.

"Malditos idiotas" she says clearly irritated, she then notices I'm there and her face immediatly softens "Hi darling" she says a smile on her face.

"Everything okay?" I ask her, she pulls me in by my waist "It is now" she says inhaling the scent of my hair.
