Part 70

3 months later

"If I catch you Ben" I say as I run through Valentina's house chasing Ben.

"Try it" Ben yells before he runs outside jumping into the pool, I jump in too.

He splashed water on me so I have to revenge it, I start splashing water over him, he doesn't care though, he just goes harder against me.

"Hey Amber help me out" Ben yells out to Amber who is tanning with Valentina, she just shrugs.

"Yeah I'm good thank you" she says before pulling her sunglasses over her eyes again.

"See no one is coming to help you" I say before I start splashing him with water again.

"We need to have a chicken fight" he says "Hey Valentina Amber, come in" he shouts out to them, they both shake their head.

"Come on, Danielle can hop on Valentina's shoulder and Amber you can hop on mine" he tries, Amber then takes her sunglasses off.

"Wow Ben, now that was an offer I couldn't resist even if I wanted to" she says sarcastically, Ben's eyes light up.

"Really?" he asks happily, Amber looks at him smiling "No" she says before dropping her face and closing her eyes again.

I snort at this "What are you laughing at? Your girlfriend fat out ignored you" Ben says.

"No she didn't" I say defending Valentina, I look over to her and she is still reading her book "Okay so maybe she did" I say.

"Come on, get her to come in Dani" Ben says "Use that power of yours that can get Valentina doing anything" he says.

I do have that power, I get out of the pool and walk over to Valentina, she looks up at me through her sunglasses, she pulls it over her head "Hello darling" she says.

"You know I love you so much, right?" I say before I give her a kiss, her face softens "Of course, I love you more" she says kindly.

Amber snorts next to us, I roll my eyes "So could you please come in the water so we can take Ben down in a chicken fight?" I smile at her widely hoping she will say yes.

"Darling I don't entertain myself in things like that" she says, I fake pout.

"Not even for me?" I say giving her my puppy eyes.

"Come on don't do that, you know I can't say no to you" she says, I can tell I'm getting to her.

"Please baby?" I say again still giving her my puppy eyes, she sighs before she puts her book down and takes her sunglasses off.

"Come on Amber" she says before she stands up and takes my hand.

"Yeah no" Amber replies, Valentina goes over to her before she takes her sunglasses off.

"Come on" she says again "We are about to have a chicken fight, didn't you hear?" she smirks.

"Firstly you are about to have a chicken fight because you can't say no to your girlfriend and me, well I'm going to lay here and let the sun tan my body" she says determined.

"Please Amber? We can't do it without you" I say, she sighs, me and Amber got close this summer, she is helping me with some self defense moves too.

I really like her, I can tell she is a loyal friend and she is actually funny and nice to be around, I can also tell she has a soft spot for me and Ben.

She stands up "Okay, one round" she says before going over to the water.

We all get in and I swim towards Ben "Look, I got both of them to come in, you on the other hand couldn't even get one of them to come in" I tease him.

He splashes water over me "Well maybe because one of them isn't in love with me" he says, I roll my eyes laughing.

"Come Ambs, get on me" Ben shouts to Amber, Amber rolls her eyes before getting on Ben's shoulder, I do the same with Valentina.

We start pushing each other "Push her off darling" Valentina yells, I try but Amber is just as good as I am.

We fall into the water multiple times, I think we are playing this for more than an hour before we finally stop, we all get out of the pool laughing.

"Maybe because you cheated" Ben says before drying himself off with his towel I laugh.

"She didn't cheat, it's not our fault we are better than you" Valentina shrugs, I smile at this.

"Yeah fine, me and Amber were pretty great too, right Amber?" he says looking around for Amber who is already on her phone talking to someone.

"Right I forgot you both are successful CEO's" Ben rolls his eyes, Valentina laughs a little.

"Hey, I'm sorry I have to get going, thank you for having me over though" Amber says as she gives Valentina a hug.

"We'll talk" Valentina says, Amber nods "Wait Ambs I'll head out with you" Ben says "Ethan is already needy because I didn't spend the day with him" he says.

We invited Ethan too but he had things to do so he couldn't come but he told Ben he needs to come.

We say our goodbyes and Ben and Amber are already out of sight.

The sun already set not too long ago, so it will be dark outside soon, Valentina sits down on the sun bed, she indicates me to sit between her legs so I do.

I lean against her back "Today was amazing" I say, Valentina kisses my head and she hums.

"I don't want to leave" I say, Harvard starts next week, I'm so not ready to go away yet, I will miss Valentina so much.

"Don't think like that" she says "Think about it like this, you are starting your dream school next week, we had an amazing summer together and we will be even stronger after Harvard" she says.

I turn around and give her a kiss "I love you" I say, she smiles "I love you more" she gives me another kiss.

"Will you be okay? I know things are crazy with Powers firm right now" I say, she hums.

"It is crazy, but I will be okay" she says "You know I will come see you as much as I can, and we will talk everyday" she reassures me.

I smile "You are perfect Valentina, I don't know what your mother said about all you can give is cold love" I say knowing she told me this one of the summer night we were talking "You are the definition of giving warm love- if that's even a word" I add.

Valentina laughs "I don't think it's a word" she says "Well I didn't think cold love existed before either" I shrug.

"Not in the sense my mom meant it, it didn't" she laughs, I start laughing too.

"I love you" she says again "I will always love you" she whispers, I smile.

"I will always love you too" I say as I take my necklace in my hand, I never took it off, the same goes for my ring, Valentina is wearing her ring around a chain on her neck too, these are just symbols but to me they are symbols showing me we are one and that we are strong.

"We will be okay Danielle" Valentina says, I believe it at least I really want to.

But will we?
