Where I am from
Nothing moves in the same way
All lights dance to their own rhythms
And not two things are the same color
Where I am from
Tropical abundance is our favorite melody
The movements of wooden bodies and their dances, as if they were latinas with long dark hair, and brown skin reaching the skies
It's the flow of the rain through our bodies
The flow of the warm and somehow suffocating breeze
Where I am from
Bodies make rules they never followed
