That same day...

Leaning up against the building, my eyes scanned every inch of the prison yard watching as some of the guys sat around and others worked out. Christmas was just a few days away and I was a bit down. Holidays had never been a big thing for me because I'd always kind of been alone during those times. At least if I'd been out me and my boy Denim could pop open a bottle or smoke. Instead, I was spending it behind bars with niggas I had no intention of getting to know. Then again maybe I should've made a friend or two.I was going to be in here for the rest of my life. Did I really want to live it not knowing anyone and making connections? If I connected with the right folks, then I could live comfortably and do whatever the fuck I wanted. At what price did I want that though? I wasn't fucking and sucking no nigga in here to get anything, and if a nigga approached me on that type of time it'd be an issue. I'd borrowed Kyaire's phone 3 days ago and sent a message to Dianna about my sister. I told him I'd get him some commissary in return. I wasn't doing anything other than that. If I was being completely honest, I was already considering breaking out. The wall that surrounded this place seemed impossible to get over though.
Two weeks ago, I'd killed one of Tear Drop's guys and he'd gone down for it. Everything was planted in his cell thanks to the guard, and for two weeks now he'd been sitting in solitary confinement until they figured out what to do with him. The prison immediately went on lockdown after the body was discovered, cells were tossed, folks were interviewed, etc. Of course, me and Kyaire were the first to be dragged in and questioned by the warden. Word got around that I'd gotten off on the wrong foot with Tear Drop. So did a lot of people, but did that automatically mean that I killed one of his people? I mean, it did but still. Assuming that was wild. Now to assume that Kyaire did it made more sense because they all had a longstanding feud.
