I've had a huge wave of motivation recently. I have 3 chapters either ready to go or half written, so if anyone would like to suggest some ideas, I'm sure I'd be straight on them x"Happy birthday!"
Dianne opened her eyes to a cheery Joseph with a cup of coffee in hand and a hand written note. Rubbing her eyes, she sat up. It was still quite early but she wouldn't want anything else on her birthday. Being up before 7, sometimes before 6, was most days her routine anyway so she really didn't mind."Ah!"
She jumped as he turned the light on unexpectedly, him giggling when he saw her smack her face back into the pillow."Thank you"
She eventually smiled as she adjusted to the light, taking her coffee as he came to lay next to her in bed.'You're 40! Can you believe it? That's so old"
"Oh thanks"
Dianne giggled to herself at joes very kind reminder. She really couldn't belive that she was 40. It felt alot older than 39, so in a way he was right but she still didn't feel it. She did feel young in a grateful way. She was still fit and healthy but in other ways she did feel old. When she was younger, she didnt imagine being here at 40, yet here she was in bed with the man she had loved for 11 years as he chuckled to himself looking at his own handmade drawing of them on the front of the card he had made for her."But if I'm getting older that means you are too"
She told him, a sly smile on her face."Oh god, don't remind me"
He sighed, feeling the strain in his back as he rolled closer to put his arm over her."Says you"
Dianne rolled her eyes jokingly as he handed over her card. Looking past the stupid picture he had drawn on the front, and actually reading what he had said about her."Awww"
Dianne smiled to herself before looking down at him, a sly smile on his face and blushing cheeks."You're so cute"
Dianne ran a hand through his hair and leant down to press a kiss onto his forehead, no different to how she usually did."Still like a lovestruck teenager"
She teased and joe hid his face into her shoulder. Not that they were old- old, but now they were getting older things were changing as they usually did when somebody passed a birthday. One thing that hadn't changed though was their love for eachother. If anything it had grown as they experienced more of life together and pulled eachother through the ups and downs of being in a long term relationship. It had been 11 years for them. 3 of those they had spent married.Twiddling with the ring on her finger, something which she never took off, dianne layed back and looked down at her Joseph. He was still as perfect as they day she layed eyes on him. He was still the caring, sweetest, most gentle person he had always been. For her, he was absolutely everything. They had alot of what they wanted, but there was also alot they didnt have and so joe for her was like her survival pill. She wasn't dependent on him, if he went away for a while for business she could definitely live, but she didn't know what she would do without him if he were to go forever. He had been a source for support and comforted her in her darkest times where she had felt heartbroken and sad but also in her happy times where he had been her first supoorter, and sometimes her only.
"Thank you"
She shuffled down further and kissed his lips now, placing the card on the drawers beside her bed."Well...I love you, so I wanted to. You always know that i want to"
He smiled."I love you too"
She smiled too, against his lips, which melted into another soft kiss."I should call mum...."
Dianne broke the silence after a while. Most of their mornings were spent like this, enjoying the quiet time before the day got hectic. Their lives were definitely alot quieter now, compared to what it was 5 years ago but it was still filled to keep them both busy.
