I really hate this chapter, but needed to write something from the earlier days.

December 2018

"Welcome to your tree house!"
The kind worker pushed the door open and immediately diannes jaw dropped. She could of sworn she hadn't ever stayed in a place like it before. Even just from first glance, she could see just how beautiful and well put together the place was. Not only was it decorated beautifully but it smelt gorgeous.

The lady walked them round and with every step she took, dianne found herself being more and more in awe every time. Everything about the treehouse was just gorgeous. In the centre of the room there was a tall Christmas tree which with its gold lights, lit up the entire room. The sofa was large and decorated with pristine cushions and soft blankets, and the kitchen was kitted out with all the mod-cons they would ever need. The bedrooms were large and like they had been taken out of a showroom, the bathroom looked as if it had come from the future. Just walking round felt like a dream and she immediately wondered...how did she ever get so lucky?

"Do you have any questions?"
The lady asked the group. With her, it was joe, Zoe and alfie who had all collectively invited her on this trip. Immediately, she had tried to turn it down. It was a chance for joe to relax finally after 4 long months of strictly training, and an opportunity for him to see his sister and her boyfriend. The three of them, Zoe especially, though, had been insistent that dianne came. She had had the same tough 4 months of dancing that joe had just been through, and more importantly Zoe and alfie both wanted to get to know dianne better, as joes new girlfriend, not just his dance partner.

"No we're all good. It all looks incredible"
Zoe said, gazing around in just as much awe as dianne. The only difference was, that dianne felt slightly out of place. She was already a good friend of Zoe and alfie, but being away with her new boyfriends sister, was slightly daunting. She felt like she was crashing on their well needed family time.

"Amazing! Well, I'll leave you all to settle in. If you need anything at all, you just need to press 5 on the phone to get through to reception"
They all thanked the kind lady, before she then left, closing the door softly behind her. Dianne almost instantly, began to grow nervous now that she was alone with joe and two of the undoubtedly most important people in his life. She knew joe and Zoe were like best friends, not just siblings. Their shared love for their jobs and close age gap, gave them more of a connection similar to twins rather than just brother and sister. Alfie too, now, was also one of joes best mates, and dianne knew joe looked up to the two of them and what they had.

"Well, shall we unpack first of all?"
Zoe was the first to break the silence making it feel less awkward for dianne, who was now holding tightly onto joes hand in attempt to calm her nerves.

"Yep! And then I definitely think we should crack open that bottle of champagne"
Joe gestured to the bottle, sitting in an ice bucket on the side. It was practically calling his name.

"Oh for sure! Which room do you want to take?"
Alfie asked them.

"Is that even a question? Obviously the kids room, duh..."
Joe spoke sarcastically with a questionable shrug. The three of them laughed, dianne only just about managing to crack a smile. She didn't know why but something about his joke, made her feel slightly uneasy.

"Can we not take the room with the hot tub?"
Dianne asked quietly, disrupting their laughter.

"You don't want the kids room?"
He asked sadly, making a shocked look appear on diannes face.

"Jesus babe, I was just joking! Of course I don't actually want the kids room"
Diannes skin crawled. For her, that was not funny and babe definitely wasn't the pet name for her.
