Abhi's POV:

My jaw dropped as I stared at the scene unfolding in front of me, and I wasn't the only one caught off guard. Ritika stood beside me, equally stunned. She turned to me, disbelief clear on her face. "That's Rakshit, right? And...that's my di, isn't it?" she asked, her voice trailing in shock. I could only nod.

Rakshit, who barely ever broke into a jog, was actually running-bolting, in fact-down the hall, with Shivani hot on his heels. "Bhabhi, I swear I didn't say anything!" he called over his shoulder, pausing just a moment to catch his breath.

Shivani, stopping a few paces behind, narrowed her eyes and shouted back, "Oh, really?" her tone dripping with sarcasm. Rakshit, out of breath and looking like a deer caught in headlights, tried to explain himself.

"Yes, Bhabhi, I swear! Right in front of you, I locked my mouth and threw away the key!" he said, looking completely innocent, as if his words would somehow clear his name.

We had just arrived at Lakshman Jhula around one in the afternoon. The bridge stretched over the Ganges, with the water flowing steadily below and the afternoon sun casting a warm light on everything around us. As we got out of the car, I stayed back to park the cars we rent from the resort, and by the time I joined the others, they were all standing a few steps ahead, looking at something with smiles on their faces.

Then next I saw them running around, Thankgod Rudra denied to join us otherwise I would have missed this side of Shivani.

"Nahi di," Ritika said pulling me back to the present, her voice loud and full of mischief. "He looked back for the keys and unlocked his mouth-I'm telling you!" She nudged Shivani, laughing. Rakshit's eyes went wide in surprise, glancing around as if he couldn't believe she'd said that.

"Haa, Shivani, Ritika is right!" Akansha jumped in, laughing as she joined the teasing. "Liar! You weren't even there, Akansha!" Rakshit shouted back, dodging through a few tourists as he tried to keep his distance. He looked back, grinning, but Shivani was close behind him, laughing as she ran.

"Rakshit, stop right there!" she called, her laughter ringing out. She ran after him, her face bright with joy, and I couldn't help but smile just watching her.

Ritika moved closer to me, her eyes still on Shivani. "Thank you so much, jiju," she said softly. Her voice had a gentle gratitude, different from the laughter around us. She kept watching Shivani, clearly happy to see her laughing and carefree.

I nodded, feeling warmth spread through me as I looked over at her, laughing so freely, and it hit me again damn her laugh was my favorite melody! No matter how down I felt, just hearing her laugh made me smile without a second thought.
