One year later...

Ophelia's pov

"I'm glad things are going well here for you two." I said to Tommy and Tubbo as I sat in the new white house with them. Tubbo remained the president of L'manburg after the war and decided to rebuild it all. He took on Tommy as his vice president since he no longer planned to chace Dream to the ends of the earth because he had given the teen his disks back.

"Yeah we just finished expanding the docks and stables and we're gonna be starting on the new houses soon. For now the newcomers are staying in Tommy and Jack's hotel." Tubbo explained. "What's been going on with you and Dream?"

After the war, Dream stuck with what he said and found us a secluded plot of land about half a days journey from the SMP. We then got to work right away building our dream house together.

"Well, as you know, we finished building the house about three months ago but we just finished with all the minor, in house details. It's been really great though. I love the quiet and how often an animal just walks right up to our house with no care in the world. It's very relaxing." I explained.

"You sound like an old lady." Tommy said sarcastically.

"Oh shut up, I'm allowed to relax after having to look out for your ass for seventeen years." I retorted. He rolled his eyes. He's still such a child.

"I better start heading back though, I want to make it there before dinner." I say standing up. The two boys do the same and come around to the other side of the desk to hug me goodbye.

"Say hi to Techno for me." Tommy mutters quietly but I still here him and give him a small nod and sad smile. Techno wasn't all too pleased that the boys were going to be reinstating the government and that Dream and I were just letting it happen. So he left and we soon found out that he had built a small cabin in the snow biome not too far from Dream and I. Phil lives with him and keeps an eye on him. Ghostbur also lives with them occasionally, but he pretty much just drifts wherever he wants. It's so strange seeing the ghost of my insane brother floating around without a care in the world, only ever wanting to make people smile, but I'm glad he's happy. Dream and I visit occasionally but not too often. We figure it's best to leave Techno be because it seems like he's finally found peace for himself.

"Goodbye boys." I say as I exit the building. I then make my way to the stables, waving at few people such as Niki, Quackity, and a boy who moved in a couple months after the war named Ranboo. He was a fairly good kid and he had his own issues but him and Tubbo had become close and were working through them.

"Hey there Ash." I said once I reached the stables. Ash was the name of my horse who's fur was an ashy grey, hence the name. "Ready to go?"

I led Ash out of the stables and mounted before taking off, out of L'manburg. It was around ten in the morning when I left so I made it back just before dinner. I smiled when the sight of our house came into view. It wasn't much, just a cute little cabin we had built in the middle of nowhere. The basic shape was a long rectangle with a triangle roof and a square in the middle of the rectangle poking out and adding more space to the house. The place was covered in lanterns and vines with many different flowers growing under the windows. I had planted those the second the frame of the house was done. I rode around back where the small stables we built were located and got Ash settled in before heading inside. The second I walked in, I was swept off the ground by a warm embrace. I giggled as Dream littered my face with small kisses as he held me tightly.

"I was barely gone two days!" I laugh. He put me down and pulled back a little but still held onto my hips.

"I missed you." He replied with a shrug of his shoulders. I laughed again and released myself from his hold when I heard excited barking.

"Hi Champ!" I exclaimed, kneeling down to give the now bigger puppy a pat on the head. "Were you good while I was gone?"

"He ripped one of his toys to shreds but other than that he was fine." I heard Dream reply. "Now come on I have somewhere I want to take you." I stood up with a questioning look but followed him out the door nonetheless. We began walking through the forest as we chatted about our days apart. After about a ten minute walk we arrived at a small clearing at a cliff that was filled with flowers. I gasped.

"I had no idea this was here." I muttered, taking in the view. Looking off the cliff you could see a huge mountain range that seemed to stretch for miles. At the very bottom, cutting through the mountain pass, there was a long crystal clear river flowing gently. It was a truly beautiful sight.

"I found it while you were visiting L'manburg and thought it'd be a great place for a picnic." I turned back to him and saw him reaching behind a tree. He pulled out a large blanket and a picnic basket. I smiled and helped him lay out the blanket before we began unpacking the basket and eating. As we ate we continued to talk about our days apart, Dream now explaining to me how he found this place, and just enjoyed each other's company. The sun had started to set just as we finished eating and it gave the mountains a wonderful glow. We packed up the basket and folded the blanket before I went and stood on the edge of the cliff to watch. Dream came and stood beside me, wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me closer. I hummed in content and rested my head on his shoulder. We just stood in silence for a while, watching the sun set behind the mountains.

"So did you like your surprise picnic?" Dream asked after a while.

"I loved it, it was perfect." I said looking up at him with a smile.

"I'm glad." He said before leaning down to kiss my forehead. I looked back out at the mountains to see the sun just barely peaking above the tallest mountain. I let out a content sigh as I thought about coming here with our kids one day. The idea brought a smile to my face amd made me feel fulfilled. I then pulled away from Dream and took his hand, guiding him away from the cliff.

"Come on" i spoke gently, "let's go home."

And that's it. We are officially done. Thank you everyone for being so patient and sticking with me these past two and a half years. I hope you've all enjoyed reading this story as much as I've enjoyed writing it. And though it took me longer and was a little more stressful than I imagined I'm happy I did it and have finally finished. I hope to continue writing and I even have a few ideas on what to write next but it will probably be a little while before I do. So thank you again, have a great day/night!
