chapter 31: bonding time

As time went on, Tristan and Sarah agreed to co-parent Stan. Sarah decided to leave her studies behind and focus on taking care of Stan at home, with Tristan providing financial support. Meanwhile, Tristan continues his studies, managing his academic responsibilities alongside his new role as father.

Scene: Sarah's Apartment - Living Room

The apartment is cozy, but it's clear that it has become a center of activity with the arrival of baby Stan. Toys are scattered around, and the soft hum of a baby monitor is faintly audible. Sarah is sitting on the couch, gently rocking Stan in her arms as she looks at a pile of textbooks and notes that she's set aside. Tristan enters the room, carrying a stack of papers and looking slightly worn from a day of classes.

Tristan: (smiling wearily) "Hey, Sarah. How's our little guy doing?"

Sarah: (glancing up with a tired smile) "He's good. Just finished his bottle. He's been a little fussy today, though."

Tristan: (sitting down next to her and setting his papers aside) "I'm sure he'll settle down soon. How are you holding up?"

Sarah: (sighing) "It's a lot of work, but I'm managing. It's hard not being in school, but I know this is what's best for Stan right now."

Tristan: (reaching over to gently touch Stan's hand) "You're doing an amazing job, Sarah. I know it's not easy, and I appreciate everything you're doing for him."

Sarah: (blushing slightly) "Thanks, Tristan. It means a lot to hear that."

Tristan: (looking at the pile of textbooks) "I've got a ton of reading and assignments to catch up on. I'm balancing this with my classes, but I'll make sure I'm here as much as I can."

Sarah: (nodding) "I know you've got a lot on your plate. If you need any help with Stan or anything else, just let me know."

Tristan: (smiling) "I appreciate that. And if you ever need a break or someone to talk to, I'm here. We're in this together."

Sarah: (gazing at Tristan with a soft smile) "I'm glad we're figuring this out. It's not what I planned, but having you here makes it a bit easier."

Tristan: (reaching out to hold her hand) "We'll get through this. One step at a time. And Stan's lucky to have you as his mom."

Sarah: (squeezing his hand) "And he's lucky to have you as his dad. Let's just make sure we give him all the love and care he needs."

Tristan: (nodding) " That's the most important thing."

They sit in comfortable silence for a moment, the warmth of their shared commitment and responsibility filling the room. Stan lets out a soft coo, and both Tristan and Sarah smile, their focus entirely on their son.

Lucas's Condo Unit – Evening

The condo is warmly lit, with a casual yet elegant setup for dinner. Lucas has prepared a simple but tasty meal. The doorbell rings, and Lucas hurries to answer it. He opens the door to find Sarah holding baby Stan, who is wrapped snugly in a blanket.

Lucas: (opening the door with a smile) "Hey, Sarah! It's great to see you both. Come on in."

Sarah: (smiling and stepping inside) "Thanks for having us, Lucas. Stan and I are really looking forward to this."
