Shannon comes back and eddie doesn't realize just how much he is pushing buck away. Then he finds a paper

Eddie had been so happy Shannon was back. Eddie spent all his time taking her to places and trying to keep her happy so she wouldn't leave.

Eddie didn't realize just how little he and buck had hang out until one day chris pointed it out.

They had been at home relaxing. Shannon had left to go back to her mother's house. "I haven't seen buck in almost 3 weeks can we go see him?" Chris asked and eddie thought chris had to be exaggerating

Then eddie looked at his calender and saw chris was right. He hadn't hung out with buck in 3 weeks.

"I'll call him" eddie said as he grabbed his phone

He stepped out of the room to call not wanting chris to hear it if buck said no.

He didn't have to wait long since buck answered after only 2 rings. "Hey eds everything ok?" Buck asks and eddie feels guilty

Of course buck wouldnt think he is calling to just chat after he hadn't even texted in weeks.

"Everything is fine. I just wanted to ask if you wanted to hangout. Chris really misses you" eddie misses him too but is too scared to say it.

"Of course why don't you come over. I was about to make food so it'll be perfect timing." Buck says excitedly.

Eddie feels guilty once again but shoves it away "Alright we will be there soon" eddie responds quickly

"Bye eds" Buck says and eddie smiles at the nickname.

"Bye buck" eddie says hanging up.

Eddie hadn't wanted a nickname at first but then buck said it so casually and it fit so well.

Eddie goes back to chris and smiles "wanna go to bucks?" Eddie asks and watches as his son lights up.

Chris hadn't looked that happy even when his mom was there. It made eddie feel really guilty. His son loved buck and he unintentionally kept them apart

While chris is getting ready eddie packs them overnight bags figuring chris would want a sleepover.

Soon they are leaving the house. On the way chris talks about how excited he is and how much he missed bucks cooking.

Recently Shannon had been cooking for them and she wasn't a bad cook but she wasn't buck.

When they show up eddie leaves the overnight bags in the car just in case they don't end up staying.

He takes chris upstairs and let's him knock. When buck opens the door both blonds are smiling brightly.

"Superman" Buck says and chris rushes into bucks awaiting arms

"Buck" chris said and hugged buck tightly.

Buck carries chris inside with eddie following behind. Buck takes chris to the couch and takes his shoes off for him.

After a few minutes buck comes to the kitchen where eddie is. "So how have you been?" Buck asks since they hadn't been talking outside of work.

"We've been ok. Chris missed you and your cooking" eddie said trying to deflect.

This somewhat worked as buck laughed. "Well good thing I am cooking. I wanna shower first if you don't mind" Buck says and eddie frown.

Before they wouldn't have asked. They would have just informed the other before doing it.
