How do you know when you’re falling in love?
Are there signs?
When do you realize it?
Is it that time when your world stops and goes into slow motion the moment you see them passing by? Is it that time when your heart is beating faster than usual whenever they are around? Is it that moment when you feel like they are the most beautiful person in the world?
Falling in love is a happy feeling.
The fast beating hearts. . . the excitement. . . the kilig. It’s like having a crush but on the next level. The feelings are more extreme. . . more intense. . . more powerful.
Falling in love to someone is the sweetest thing. Nakakatuwa na sa simpleng gawin lang ng taong gusto mo ay nagdadala na sa’yo ng sobrang ligaya. A simple smile. . . little eye contacts. . . small talks. . .
Isn’t it wonderful how someone’s presence can light up your mood? The slow realization of your feelings. The way you connect the dots.
Kaya ba hinahanap ko siya palagi? Kaya ba nami-miss ko siya? Kaya ba masaya siyang kausap? Kasi. . . nagkakagusto na ako sa kanya?
Falling in love may be a little confusing. Your thoughts will be filled with them. They will appear in your dreams, and you will fall even harder. Mamamalayan mo na lang ang sarili mong patuloy na nahuhulog. Even though you had a rough day, seeing them can bring your energy back to 100 percent in a blink. They have that power over you that they don’t even know. Well, unless you’ll tell them.
But as much as it is exciting, falling in love is also terrifying.
“Girls, alam niyo ba? Umuwi na daw sa pilipinas si Chanelle!”
Ito ang bungad sa amin ni Carol pagkarating na pagkarating sa restaurant kung saan kami kakain ng lunch. Grabe talaga siya. Wala man lang hi o hello. Wala ding upo-upo. She went towards us with a straight-up chismis.
“Yong model?” Tanong ni Leila. Mabilis tumango si Carol.
“Oo! Grabe mahal na mahal ko ‘yon. Simula ng makasali ako sa raffle niya ay tinutukan ko na talaga ang buhay niya. Tingnan niyo!” She showed us her phone. “Ang ganda ganda niya, ‘no?” Dagdag niya. Halos magningning ang mga mata nito habang nakatingin sa litrato na ipinapakita niya sa’min.
Tumango naman kaming tatlo habang pinagmamasdan ang picture ni Chanelle mula sa balita. She’s really stunning. Maganda na ito noon pero mas grabe ngayon. Parang hindi na siya totoong tao. Mukha na siyang dyosa sa sobrang ganda!
She’s wearing a tightly fitted spaghetti strap maroon dress that hugged her body. Her hands were running along her long wavy hair while she’s walking outside the airport. It was a candid photo, but oh my gosh, she looks so beautiful. Litaw na litaw ang ganda at maputi nitong kutis dahil sa suot niya.
“Grabe, feeling ko natibo na ako. Sobrang ganda,” komento ni Shye habang natulala na ata sa picture ni Chanelle.
“Matagal na akong lumiko sa kanya. Effortless ang beauty ni madam. Kahit straight, nababaliko dahil sa kanya,” saad naman ni Carol.
“Kailan siya umuwi?” Tanong ko. Inilapag na ni Carol ang cellphone niya at naupo na.
“Actually, matagal na. Mga 2 weeks na yata or 3? Ngayon ko lang na-kwento kasi ngayon lang naman tayo nagkita,” sagot niya. Napanganga kami doon.
“Grabe pwede namang i-chat.”
“Ayaw ko sa chat. Mas gusto ko sa personal eh.”
Napailing na lang ako. Ibang klase talaga siya.
