Chapter 26

Aric POV

A month has passed since our parents' passing. We have fit into our routine as Alphas perfectly. Our new office has just been finished, and today we get to open it together.

The room was designed with a sense of purpose and unity, reflecting our shared leadership. The dark walls gave it an air of authority, while the large window allowed natural light to flood the space. The centerpiece of the room was a set of matching desks, each positioned on either side of the room, facing each other. This arrangement symbolized our equal roles and the collaboration that defined our leadership style.

One of the desks was made from rich, dark wood with intricate carvings along the edges, a testament to the craftsmanship of the pack members who built it. The other desk mirrored the first, both sturdy and elegant, a perfect match for the chairs that accompanied them—plush, high-backed seats that offered both comfort and a commanding presence.

Bookshelves lined the walls, filled with volumes on pack history, leadership strategies, and various other topics that would aid us in our duties. A map of our pack lands hung above the central space.

We stood together at the entrance, taking in the sight of our completed office. It was a tangible representation of our journey and the hard work we had put in over the past month.

"Ready?" I asked, glancing at Aiden.

He nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Ready."

We sat in our newly appointed desk chairs, the leather soft and comfortable, yet firm enough to support us through the long hours we would spend here. I took a moment to appreciate the craftsmanship, running my hand along the polished wood of my desk.

Aiden and I exchanged a glance, both of us feeling the weight and significance of this moment. We were ready.

Opening our telepathic link to the pack, I sent out a message. "Attention, Dark Moon pack. Our new office is now open for the next two hours. If you have any needs or concerns, feel free to reach out to us. We are here for you."

I felt the responses trickle in, a mix of gratitude, curiosity, and a few concerns that needed addressing. It was a reminder of the trust our pack placed in us and the responsibilities we carried.

Aiden leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression on his face. "I think this will be good for everyone," he said, his voice reflecting a quiet confidence.

I nodded in agreement. "It's important they know we're accessible, that we're here to support them in every way we can."

As the minutes passed, we began receiving visits and messages from pack members. Some came with questions about pack matters, others with personal concerns, and a few simply to express their gratitude for our leadership.

Sitting in our office, side by side, we tackled each issue with the same determination and unity that had brought us to this point. The office buzzed with activity, the air filled with the sense of purpose and community.

For the next two hours, we listened, advised, and made decisions, always mindful of the legacy we were upholding and the future we were building.

As we were discussing the issues and concerns brought to us by the pack members, a small knock echoed through the door. Before either of us could respond, the front desk office girl stepped in, her cheeks flushed a bright pink. She carried a bag of food in her hand, and her eyes seemed to sparkle as they landed on Aiden.

"Hi, Aiden," she said shyly, holding out the bag to him. "I thought you might be hungry."

Aiden smiled warmly, accepting the bag. "Thanks, Elizabeth. That's really thoughtful of you."
