Chapter 32

Aric POV

The drive back to my pack lands was long but filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation. Violet's things were packed in the back seat, and she slept peacefully in the passenger seat next to me. The soft rise and fall of her chest and the serene expression on her face made me smile.

As we approached the front gates of our border, I gently reached over and touched her arm, not wanting to startle her. "Violet," I said softly. "We're almost home."

She stirred, her eyes fluttering open. "Hmm?" she mumbled, still half-asleep.

"I wanted you to see your new home," I said, smiling as her eyes began to focus and take in the surroundings.

She sat up, rubbing her eyes and looking out the window. The towering gates of our pack lands loomed ahead, flanked by tall trees and familiar landmarks. Her expression shifted from sleepy to awestruck as we passed through the gates.

"Wow," she whispered, taking it all in. "It's beautiful."

I reached over and took her hand, squeezing it gently. "Welcome to your new home."

We drove through the pack lands, the landscape a mix of dense forests and open fields, all teeming with life. As we made our way towards my parents' house, where Aiden and Lila were waiting, I couldn't help but feel a surge of pride and happiness.

Pulling up to the house, I parked the car and turned to Violet. "Ready to meet the rest of the family?"

She nodded, a mixture of excitement and nervousness in her eyes. "Yes, I'm ready."

We got out of the car, and I helped her with her things. As we approached the front door, it swung open, revealing Aiden and Lila standing there with welcoming smiles.

"Welcome home," Aiden said, his grin wide and genuine.

Lila stepped forward, giving Violet a warm hug. "We're so happy to have you here, Violet."

Violet smiled, her nervousness melting away. "Thank you. I'm happy to be here."

As we stepped inside, Violet nudged me playfully. "You didn't tell me you were an identical twin," she whispered, a hint of amusement in her voice.

I chuckled, glancing over at Aiden. "Surprise," I said with a grin. "Aiden and I tend to keep a few secrets."

Aiden laughed, stepping closer. "I guess the cat's out of the bag now. Nice to meet you, Violet."

"It's nice to meet you too," she replied, smiling warmly. "Now I understand why you were so good at that race."

Lila joined in, laughing softly. "These two have been challenging each other since they could walk. It's no wonder they're both so competitive."

Violet looked between us, her eyes sparkling with amusement and curiosity. "Well, it's good to know I'll never be bored around here."

"You definitely won't," I assured her, wrapping an arm around her waist. "There's always something happening."

Once we were all settled inside, I turned to everyone. "Can we all sit down for a moment? There's something I want to discuss."

Everyone found seats in the cozy living room. I looked over at Aiden. "Aiden, have you been staying here in our parents' house?"

Aiden nodded, his expression becoming a bit more serious. "Yeah, Lila and I have been staying here in the guest room. I wanted to talk to you about it when you got back."

I raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile playing on my lips. "Oh? And why not stay in our room?"

Aiden chuckled, shaking his head. "Like she would appreciate trying to share a twin bed with my ass."
