Lindsay is just as beautiful as the first time I saw her, she looks flawless. She gives me another graceful smile, I watch as she sticks her hand out for me to shake. I place my hand in her own but I'm shocked at how cold her hand is, it's freezing and as solid as stone.
"It's nice to officially meet you again." She says in a sweet tone, I love her accent.
"It's nice to meet you again too." I tell her returning the smile.
My mom looks in-between the both of us in confusion.
"You two have met before?" She asks.
"Yeah, Hazel and I go waaay back... We met a few weeks ago in the woods." She says jokingly.
"Oh, well that's nice to know. What were you doing in the woods by my house?" My mom curiously asks her.
"I was bobbing for apples." She jokes again. "I was trying to find a deer to hunt, I'm trying to switch over."
She must feed off of humans, if my dad knew she was here I was a feeling he would completely flip out.
"Well that's good to know. How is that going so far?" My mom puzzles.
"They don't taste as great as... Well... Humans. But I'm managing. I feel like I can really switch over if I try hard enough." She says.
"You can do it, I remember when I-" My mom begins but she stops speaking abruptly. "Never mind."
Lindsay gives her a knowing expression as silence fills the room, it feels like there is a deep secret they both are in on that I don't know about.
"You remember what, mom?" I ask curiously. She smiles at me.
"Nothing sweetie. I forgot."
She did not forget, she just doesn't want me to know something. I nod my head slowly before heading off for the kitchen to get some water, I'm not even going to press on right now to figure out what she was going to say. After I gulp down some water I head for the dinning room again.
"Well, it was really good to see you again Lindsay." I tell her in a kind tone, she smiles at me again.
"You too! I'll be around."
"Have a good night" My mom lovingly speaks.
"I will. Where's dad?"
"He had to work late, he should be home soon." She tells me. Lindsay stands up from the table.
"Well that's my que to leave then, I don't want to piss off your werewolf." I laugh when she says this, it's funny for some reason when she says it.
"Do you want to come by again tomorrow?" She asks her, Lindsay smiles.
"That would be just fabulous. I'll come by tomorrow same time." Lindsay says as she heads for the door.
"Perfect, then I'll see you tomorrow."
"Bye Lindsay!" I call out.
"Goodbye beautiful humans!" She says waving at us, I laugh again.
A vampire calling us beautiful humans? Something about that is very comical to me. I like Lindsay, she seems nice. When the front door closes my mom turns to face me.
"So how to you know her?" I ask. She looks flustered.
"Oh, we met in the woods one day."
"And she didn't try to kill you?"
"No, no, nothing like that." She looks anxious the more I ask about it.
