CHAPTER 32: COLDNESS

I woke feeling very light. I caressed my stomach and stared at the unfamiliar surroundings. Mukhang nasa hospital ako, and I hate hospitals! Sino ba nagdala sa'kin dito?

Sa lahat lahat ng pwedeng gisingan. Hospital pa.

I feel okay so I just stood up while pulling the IV stand napansin ko si Papa at si Rosie kasama si Tito Dominique at ang asawa nito.

I opened the door. Where's that cheater?

"You're all here? Where's my husband? Hindi ba siya pumunta? Did you contact him? Ba't sila tita lang ang nandito?" Pag-uulan ko ng tanong sa kanila. Galit, that's what i have in my heart right now. At tinatak ito ng isipan ko.

Rosie who's biting her nails suddenly stops and stares at me. "Nasa ICU siya ngayon. He got into a car crash while rushing to get here based on the CCTV footage"

My jaw dropped. Hindi ko alam kung bakit, but hearing those words from her makes my heart clenched. The coldness of my heart melts hearing my husband's on the ICU. No way, "So he overspeed, naaksidente na makakasuhan pa." halos pabulong na sabi ko. I looked at Rosie. "The other person?"

Rosie's lips formed an 'o' as I glanced at her with my brows raised. "He is fine, binayaran na siya ni papa. Guess he didn't complain at all. People needs money so much sabagay wala rin naman siyang galos or anything. "

"Well, people love money. Binigyan niyo ata nang bagong pambili ng kotse?" Tiningnan ko si dad na tumango lang na parang is no big deal.

I sighed.

"Where's the operating room? I need to see him." I said in an authoritative voice.

Tumayo si Dad at tsaka umiling. "Diyan ka lang muna. Palipat palang siya sa ICU, baka ngayon ay nasa operating room parin siya, tatawagin muna namin ang doktor mo." Anito at tsaka umalis kasama si Tito Dominique.

Lumapit naman sila Tita sa akin at tsaka niyakap ako. "Buti at gising ka na. Pagpasensyahan mo na ang anak namin ha? Nako, sakit talaga sa ulo minsan 'yan. But i know it's his fault. Hindi ko alam bakit kailangan niya pang magkaganon, okay pa lang naman kayo? So i was really confused and scared for his dear life."

I smiled at them. "Don't worry po I won't take it heavily on my heart. We fought all the time, and this one- lilipas lang din ito na parang hindi nangyari. Let's just pray he'll recover and wake up eventually."

There's something more than this accident. Kahit na galit ako, kahit na masama ang loob ko. I never wished for him to die like that. He's my husband! Kahit na galit ako, hindi ibig sabihin nun nawala na ang pagmamahal ko sa kanya.

He's still the man i love.

"Maraming salamat ha? Ikaw na nga itong tumulong ikaw pa itong binibigyan ng problema"

"Well, I can handle this. Maayos naman po kami, i just need to have some time and sana, kung ano man ang rason niya maliwanagan ako, it's just need some explanation," I said with finality in my voice.

Niyakap naman ako ni Tita at tsaka nginitian ako ng malapad. "You really are a good woman, Thank you for your patience,"

"Always, Tita."

He needs time to think and decide whether he's on the right or wrong path. He's different, hindi mo alam ang tumatakbo sa isipan niya. We were fine, we were totally fine. Minsan nga lang kami mag-away eh, we are totally fine. Pero hindi ko alam, bakit? Bakit siya nagkakaganito.
