CHAPTER 2: Malandi ka

SAMANTHA VYRONICA POV

“I am more than busy, than what you thought, Rosie” Hindi ko binalingan si Rosie at nagpatuloy sa aking ginagawa. I was having some thoughts on the case I was handling right now.

It’s getting more complicated and complicated.

“But, Savy! He’s literally living his life in that mansion! Kailangan mo ‘yun paalisin!” Pagrereklamo niya. I know she was only worried to me. But i can't let it slide, when in fact we are in the borderline.

I lifted my gaze and sighed. “Hindi nga makausap ng matino eh. Let him, nasa penthouse ka narin naman. ‘wag ka na lang umuwi kung ayaw mo na makita ang pagmumukha niya”

She sighed.

Mukhang ayaw niya talaga magpatalo. It’s been 2 days at ang kaluluwa niya ay hindi mapalagay. She hated that man for hell.

Hindi ko naman ito masisi, pero hindi niya rin naman masisisi si Dashell if he stayed there whenever he wanted too. After all, may utang na loob kami at ayaw kong maungkat ‘yun at masingil pa kami ng wala sa oras.

“Why? Bakit parang pinagtatanggol mo ang bwiset na ‘yun! Do you like him? Naalog ba ang ulo mo?” Pag-ulan nito ng tanong sa akin.

I laughed and shut the folder close. “No! I won’t like him. Naalog siguro ang utak ko but I will never like that man! Hindi siya ang type ko. I want someone who’s older than me”

Umupo ito sa tabi ko. I know she still contemplating kahit na anong gawin kong paliwanag at pangbi-brainwash. “Yun naman pala. Ba’t ka pumayag sa kasal?”

Napahilamos ako ng mukha sa inis. “You don’t understand aren’t you?”

“Then let me understand, Hindi yung hindi kita maintindihan, Savy!” she shouted.

I licked my lips and started fidgeting. “Our family, I mean— when my mother was still alive, we experienced a big drought in business. Even the political career of Dad turns upside down, so they’re here to help. Tinulungan nila na makabangon ang negosyo. So here, kaya ko ito ginagawa. Dahil malaki ang naitulong nila para makamit natin ang buhay na meron tayo ngayon”

The moment i explained to her, her facial expression changes. But then, hindi mawawala na kahit na maintindihan niya ay tutol parin siya.

“Even if it means your freedom and your happiness?” tanong nito na parang nalungkot na lamang.

I nooded. “Mabilis lang naman, eh. Just a year, if they go back to how they are after a year. I’ll claim back my freedom. Hindi ko naman isasakal ang sarili ko sa isang kasal na parehas kaming mahihirapan, Rosie”

She sighed and cried. “But that’s unfair! Bakit kasi kailangan na kasal pa, eh. Wala na ba talagang ibang paraan?”

Natawa naman ako at tsaka ginulo ang buhok niya. “Do not worry, hindi naman ako mamamatay pa!!”

She shook her head. “Kahit na, parang pinatay ka na rin, ano!!”

Well, she’s right about one thing. Pero anong magagawa ko? If the name we have could give back what they lose, I need to sacrifice even if it means everything. Sa ganitong paraan, they'll regain and we will be paid for the debts we had.

But this is nothing, masyado nang marami ang napagdaanan ko. So it’s not possible to have a hard life. Kaya ko siyang paikutin sa kamay ko.

I won’t be defeated. Nasa paborito niyang restaurant kami ngayon. It was a garden themed restaurant since she loves nature so much.
