We sit on the steps, not saying anything for a while. Until I finally speak up.
"Okay. I can tell you're mad." I say not looking at him.
"You bet I'm mad." He says. "I don't understand you Christina. You say you like me, but you think that I should challenge myself & take you on an actual date, & when I do, you get mad & run out." He say angrily.
"I know, that was stupid of me." I admit. He stays silent.
"My old relationship was based entirely on him using me. I guess now it's hard for me to commit to another relationship." He speaks before I can finish.
"I'm not that doofus!" He screams standing up.
"I know!" I say slightly screaming too. I'm on the verge of tears. They don't fall, they just collect in my eyes. "I was wrong for taking it out on you. I'm sorry." I finally say.
He just stays silent, running his hand through his hair.
I stand up & get closer to him. "I know that I don't deserve it for being extremely confusing, but if you give me one more chance, I promise, I won't let you down." I say. He looks at me, emotionless.
He sighs. "You're lucky I like you a lot." He say smiling. I smile, feeling a weight off my shoulders. I wrap my arms around him. He's shocked at first, but quickly wraps his arms around me.
I feel weird admitting this, but I feel safe in his arms.
"So, I'm guessing you two made up?" Steve's voice says. I turn around & see the gang standing by the doorway.
"Yeah." I say.
They all smile & walk back inside, leaving just me & Dally again.
"So, Christina." He says smirking.
"Yeah?" I smile.
"Will you be my girl?" He asks. I let out a small laugh.
"I'd love to." I say smiling. He takes my hand & slips his ring through my finger.
"You're mine now." He says kissing my cheek. I'm surprised he didn't kiss me on the lips, I guess he's taking it slow. I appreciate that.
We walk in & Dally announces that we're a couple. The gang all smile & holler. Except Soda. He walks over & sits down next to me.
"So, uh, I guess you & ol' Dally are a couple now, huh?" He asks.
"Yeah." I say avoiding his eyes. He smiles, but his eyes say differently.
"I'm happy for you Chris." He says.
"Thank you." I say. I check the clock. 8:30pm.
"Well, I'm heading home. I'll see you guys tomorrow." I say.
"I'll walk you." Dally & Soda both say at once. They look at each other confused. Oh no. I speak before they can say anything.
"No thanks, I'll walk alone. Bye guys." I say leaving. As I'm walking, I start thinking. Did I make the right decision saying yes to Dallas. I don't know.
I walk in my house & see Justin immediately, with Brie sitting on his lap.
"Hey, guys." I say.
"Hey Christina, how was your date?" Brie says smirking.
"It was, interesting." I say.
"You gonna tell us about it?" Justin asks. I don't want to tell them right now, considering I have a lot on my mind.
"Maybe another time. You guys enjoy your date." I say winking & walking upstairs. My parents usually get home at around 11. I don't feel like waiting for them, so I just get ready for bed.
I try to sleep, but I can't. I start thinking more & more. I'm not sure if I made the right decision, but I need to give him a chance. I look at the ring on my finger & smile, thinking about Dallas Winston.
