Maybe They Were Right

Karina and Chris both woke up smiling with the kiss on their mind. Karina couldn't believe it. They had actually kissed. And it wasn't your average kiss either.

"Okay Karina it was just a kiss girl. Chill." She said to herself as she laid in bed. She got out of bed and did her morning routine. As she brushed her teeth, thoughts swarmed her mind.

'What's next?'

'Did Chris mean to kiss me?'

'Oh no...I don't want to ruin our friendship...or Royalty's and I friendship!'

'What have I done?'

Karina sighed at all these thoughts and got dressed. The last thing Karina wanted to do was mess up their friendship. Even though she did like Chris, she was willing to push that aside. When she got in the car she called Janiyah to tell her what happened.

"Good morning Niyah." Janiyah groaned on the other end.

"Good morning. Why you calling me so early?"

"Because I couldn't wait to tell you that Chris and I kissed last night." Karina could hear Janiyah shuffling in the bed frantically.

"You and who did what now?!"

"Chris and I kissed last night." Karina smiled at the memory.

"Wait wait WAIT!! How did that happen? Was it good? Come on tell me!!" Janiyah said excitedly.

"Well when he came to pick up Royalty yesterday, he asked if I wanted to do something that night. I told him about the Griffith Observatory and at first he wasn't with it but I convinced him. Everything was cool...very fun and at the Observatory he ended up saying 'This is a cool date'."

"Waittttt! Slow downnnnn." Karina could tell Janiyah was grinning on the other side of the phone. "One, he just asked if you wanted to do something on a random night? Two, he said it was a date?!"

"Yes and yes. But I thought he was joking so I ended up saying 'oh so this is a date? I should've gotten dressier' or something like that and laughed. But he told me I already looked good. Anyways fast forward, we got ice cream and as were sitting in the car at the ice cream place... and why did he ask me about Quady?" Janiyah made the 'oop' noise.

"How the freak he know about Quady?!"

"He saw me and Quady dancing at the club a few nights ago...and I'm starting to think that's why he was being an asshole to me that night."

"Jesus this is too much...okay so the kiss the kiss."

"Okay so we went back to my house and I showed him my new Minnie Riperton vinyl-"

"You actually got it!! Girl I didn't think i-"

"Please shut up and let me finish...anyways I showed him the vinyl and he told me he never heard of it. So I popped it on the record player and we started to dance with each other. It was so nice...like the way he held me as we swayed side to side...yea...so then the next song started and he grabbed my chin and made me look at him and we stared at each other for a few seconds before he leaned down and kissed me." Janiyah squealed on the other end causing Karina to laugh.
