Maybe They Were Right

"Okay I need y'all to sit down! Hey!" Karina yelled but they kept running around. She stood there for a while trying to figure out how she would get them to listen. "It's fine. I'll just tell coach that y'all won't be going to recess this week." The kids scattered and went to their seats and sat down. "Now why did I have to threaten y'all with no recess when y'all could've just sat down when I said it the first time?" She asked nicely. No one responded. "That's fine. But I know one thing, y'all will be sitting down at recess today." The kids groaned and she shrugged her shoulders.

This year's kids were giving Karina a hard time. They were very hardheaded and all Karina did was repeat herself. They were even cutting up the first day of school. She was over it. Karina continued to teach and her kids most definitely sat down during recess. She stood there and made sure of it.

"Ms. Wright!!" Royalty yelled as she ran to her. Karina bent down and hugged her. "Why they sitting down?"

"Because they wasn't listening to me all last week and today I finally had enough of it." Karina said and Royalty shook her head.

"Shame." Karina laughed.

"How you been?"

"I've been good. I miss being in your class."

"I miss you being in my class too. How's your dad and your siblings?"

"He's sleepy. That's all he does is sleep. He even sleeps before I'm in bed!" Karina laughed.

"Well you know he works hard so sometimes he's extra sleepy." Royalty nodded.

"Okay i'm going to go play. See you later!" Royalty ran away and Karina continued to stand there watching her students sit there sadly as the kids played dodgeball.

After work, Karina came straight to the suite for a new client's hair appointment.

"So you booked for knotless braids right?" Karina asked.

"Yea." Karina examined her hair. It was pretty damaged and she knew knotless braids would further damage her hair.

"Can I be honest with you?" The client nodded her head. "Your hair is really damaged. You have a lot of breakage in the back and you are developing a stress spot at your crown. Knotless braids wouldn't be a good idea right now."

"Oh my God really? Can you show me?" Karina showed her exactly what she was talking about and her client was shocked. "I thought the braids were protecting my hair."

"Braids are supposed to protect your hair but when they are way too tight, that's when trouble comes."

"So what should I do?"

"I can give you a hair treatment today and do a really cute protective style without added hair. It's up to you with what you are comfortable with." The client sighed.

"I trust you. I know you wouldn't have me looking stupid so do your thing." Karina smiled and continued her service. At each step, she explained to her client what the product would do and what products she should use and stay away from. Four hours later, she was done. "Oh my gosh! Karina this looks so good! I wasn't even expecting to like whatever you chose to do!" Karina chuckled.
