Karina was back in LA and she had a lot on her mind. She had the opportunity of a lifetime to work as a hairstylist for Victoria Monét. It was the best news she had gotten in the midst of all the shitty stuff she was dealing with in her personal life. The shitty stuff being Chris...Karina dreaded speaking with him but she knew she had to.

There was a knock at her door and she groaned. She had just sat down on the couch.

"Cominggg!" She sang as she walked to the door. Before she opened it, she looked through the peephole. "Oh my gosh!! I thought you were coming tomorrow?!" Karina said with a big smile.

"Well I wanted to surprise you!" Janiyah said with a big smile. Karina let her in. "Oh wow. Karina your home is beautiful!" She said with her mouth slightly open. Karina moved into this home 5 years after she started teaching and has been here ever since. Janiyah only saw the apartment she lived in right after undergrad but hasn't been back until now.

"Thank you thank you. Let me give you a tour." Karina gave Janiyah a tour of her home and she absolutely loved it.

"This is beautiful...seriously Karina." Karina wrapped her arm around her as they walked down the hallway. They went to the living room and sat down. "Soooo what's tea? What's been going on since you left Atlanta?" Karina sighed and played with her fingernails. Janiyah knew what that meant. "What's wrong?"

"I found out...Chris cheated on me with Jazmine." Janiyah scrunched up her face and moved her head back. A tear fell from Karina's eyes.

"Wait....wait wait wait. Jazmine Lin?! From back home?!" Karina nodded her head. "How the fuck...what exactly happened?"

"I didn't ask for all the details. I just know that he cheated around June maybe July. And they both said it was a one time thing but I don't know...I mean they lied to my face for months! They didn't say anything!" Karina said as more tears fell. Janiyah pulled her into a hug.

"It's okay. Don't get yourself worked up over this...Go get dressed, let's go to brunch." Karina nodded her head and went to her room to take a shower and get dressed. Janiyah went to the guest room and did the same. After an hour they were dressed and ready.

"I know a spot outside of LA." Karina said as they got into the car. Janiyah connected to the bluetooth and played her playlist.

"You remember this?" She said with a smile as she looked at Karina. Karina laughed and nodded her head as Mario's Cmon started to play.

"WHERE DID YOU COME FROM? I WANNA THANK YA MOM FOR BRINGING YOU INTO THIS LIFE AND MAKING YOU MY TYPEEEEE!" The two sang loudly.

"Mario was our first crush." Janiyah said as she laughed at the memory of her and Karina being obsessed with Mario. "He was so fine!"

"Still fine!" Karina said with a smile. "He is still fine girl not too much on Mario." The two laughed and continued to listen to music. They were almost to the spot, when Chris's Poppin' started to play making Karina side eye Janiyah. Janiyah quickly paused it.

"Sorry."

"...That nigga make good music." Karina said causing Janiyah to laugh. Karina laughed as well and pulled into a parking spot on the side of the restaurant. They got out the car and walked into the slightly packed restaurant. They were seated near the window.
