Maybe They Were Right

It's been two weeks since Lovely was born and Chris was in full dad mode. He's been focused on taking care of the baby and making sure Diamond, Lovely's mother, was good as well. She came home with him after the baby was born and has been there ever since. Technically they were together so it wasn't anything new. Diamond did live with her mother in another city but it was already in works for them to live together the first few months the baby was born.

Chris and Karina haven't talked much since he's been so busy with the baby and Diamond. And Karina has been busy making changes to her schedule since she knew the school year was about to get hectic since Spring and Summer break were coming. Karina decided to only do wigs, quick weaves, and stitch braids until Spring break because those styles didn't take Karina long to do. She could fit those styles in after work on the weekdays and do multiple heads on the weekends. For the inconvenience, she decided to give her clients 10% off until Spring Break. After doing hair all day, she left the suite and went to the store.

"I should get some things for Chris and the baby." She said to herself. She got two boxes of diapers and wipes and she bought the baby a cute onesie. Once she got everything, she made her way to his house. She got everything out the car and knocked on the door. Chris opened the door with the baby in his arms.

"Wassup Rina!" He said with a big smile.

"Hey and oh my goodnessss look at herrrrr." Karina walked up to Chris and the baby. "I bought some diapers and wipes for the baby and a cute onesie."

"Thank you so much. At this rate we won't ever run out. Come in."

"Oh no Chris. I didn't plan on staying long. I just thought about you guys and wanted to drop this off."

"Girl shut up. We ain't seen each other in how long? Come in the house. Here. Hold the baby while I bring this stuff in."

"Wait! Give me a clean shirt and let me wash my hands."

"You might as well just bring the stuff in and then we'll do all that." Karina laughed and brought the stuff in. She closed the door and went into the kitchen to wash her hands and arms thoroughly. Chris came back downstairs with one of his shirts and she put it on. She ran to the living room and sat down excitedly. "You know how to hold a baby?"

"Is my name Karina?" Chris chuckled at her smart remark and carefully put Lovely in her arms. "She is so gorgeous, Chris. Hi Lovely...my name is Karina but your sister calls me Ms.Wright." Chris smiled at the interaction. "How have you been Chris?"

"Tired as fuck but good. I'm in love with this little girl." Karina smiled at Chris then at the baby. "How you been?"

"I've been good. Just teaching and making changes to my booking site. Trying to not overwork myself but also still get a steady income from it." Chris nodded.

"Did I ever tell you that I was proud of you? I bet it's hard teaching and doing hair. I couldn't do that shit."

"Aww thank you Chris. I appreciate it. It's not easy but it's worth it. I love doing hair." Lovely fell asleep after a while while Chris and Karina talked. Chris went upstairs and put her in her crib and came back down.
