Karina was at work tired. She had to bring extra coffee to make sure she was on her A game. She sat at recess watching the kids play and Royalty ran over and sat beside her.
"Can you talk to my daddy?" Royalty said and Karina raised an eyebrow.
"Talk to your dad about what kiddo?"
"Doing my hair. I want braids and my mommy doesn't know how to do them like you do." Karina giggled.
"You got to talk to your dad and your mom about that. I don't want to get in trouble again." Royalty smacked her lips. "Look, if you butter him up then i'll come in and finish the job off." Karina put her pinky out and Royalty smiled, wrapping her pinky around hers.
"Deal." She got back up and ran off. Although their was a recess teacher, Karina liked to go and watch the kids have fun and play. She got up and walked back to her classroom for some peace and quiet...until her phone dinged.

Karina laughed as she texted back. The kids would be back any minute so she put her phone up and got ready to keep teaching.
School was out and Karina was packing up to go when there was a knock at her door. It was Mrs.Rainey and Royalty.
"Hey, her ride never showed up." Royalty looked a little sad. This was her first time being the only kid left at school. Whoever picks her up is usually here on time.
"Okay thank you for bringing her back." Royalty sat in her seat. "You want a snack?" Royalty nodded and Karina gave her an orange and a Caprison. After Karina was done straightening up, the two headed outside to sit on the bench and wait for her ride.
"I want you to wait with me every day." Royalty said. Karina was free to watch kids if she wanted to, she just chose to stay in her class and do some work.
"Okay, I'll speak to Mrs. Rainey and tell her I'll take her spot from now on. I'm sure she'd love to hear that." Royalty smiled and a car sped through the parking lot and stopped in front of them. Chris got out the car and Royalty ran to her dad.
"Hey Ro! I'm so sorry I'm late." Chris said as he sighed and picked his daughter up. She hugged him tight.
"It's okay daddy! Ms.Wright stayed with me and gave me a snack!" Karina smiled. Chris put Royalty down and she ran to the car to get in.
"Hey um, I wanted to apologize for how I came off yesterday."
"You are totally fine. I would've been irritated too if I sent my daughter to school looking one way and she came back looking another." Karina giggled and Chris smiled.
"Her mom kept complaining to me so that's why I had the attitude. Once again my apologies."
"I understand." Royalty got out of the car and ran to hug Karina.
"I forgot to give you a hug!" Karina laughed and hugged Royalty back.
"I'll see you tomorrow pretty girl." Chris grabbed Royalty's hand and got into the car. As Chris drove off, Royalty and Karina waved goodbye to each other.
Karina walked back into the school and finished the work she was supposed to do last night. As she worked, she got a text message.
Quady: Hey beautiful, you free? 3:05 pm
Karina rolled her eyes and decided to not answer. She got another message.
Quady: And I know you just rolled your eyes😂 text me back man 3:06 pm
What you want, Quadir? 3:07 pm
Quady: damn not you using my government now. 3:07 pm
Hurry up and say what you want 3:08 pm
Quady: I wanna see you 3:08 pm
Karina shut off her phone and put it face down, ignoring what she just read. Karina and Quady were together for a year and a half but broke up three months ago. According to Karina, Quady was smooth shit talker. Everything that came out his mouth were lies. Karina actually broke up with him and his ego was hurt because of it. She thinks that because that happened, he's been trying to get back with her just so he could break up with her first. She hasn't blocked him because at one point they were the best of friends and she didn't want to let that friendship go to waste, but recently she's been reconsidering.
Karina finished an hour later, and left the school.
"Chipotle here I come."

"Y'all missing that step after the dip. Come on I know y'all got it." Chris said to his dancers as they ran through the moves again.
They had been at rehearsals for three hours now, getting ready for a tour he had in the works.
"Alright let's take a break." Taylor laid stretched out on the floor. Chris came and sat beside her. "How you know Karina?" Taylor smacked her lips and looked at him.
"She does my hair." Chris scrunched his face.
"But you ain't got no hair." Taylor kicked his leg and he laughed. "I'm playing girl dang."
"Why you keep asking me about Karina?"
"She RoRo teacher and Ro talks about her all the time. Nonstop." Taylor smiled and nodded her head
"Sound about right. Karina always leaves that type of mark on people."
"Mhm. Alright y'all let's finish this!" Chris said as he got up.
His album would he dropping in June and in July he planned to be on tour. He had to make sure everything was perfect. He worked hard when it come to his music and putting on a show. Every year he felt like he was fighting for respect in the music industry and he felt like he was finally getting it. But that didn't stop him from slacking off. Nah. He had to keep applying pressure.
