Chris and Royalty were running behind schedule this morning because Chris woke up late, in turn making Royalty wake up late. Chris knew they would be a little late so he texted Karina letting her know. Once they were dressed and out the door, Chris stopped at a flower stand and got Karina flowers.
"You like Ms.Wright don't you?" Royalty asked. Chris smiled at her.
"Yea I do." Royalty did a happy dance in her seat causing Chris to laugh. They made it right at the tardy bell and Chris gave Royalty the flowers to go to Karina. When Royalty walked in the class with flowers, all her students made 'ooouuuuuu' sounds causing her to chuckle.
"These are from daddy because he likes you." Royalty said with a smile. Karina thanked her and admired the bouquet of flowers. She cut the bottom and put them in a vase with flower food.
Later that day at recess, Royalty drilled Karina with questions about Chris.
"So are you and my daddy dating?"
"Yes."
"Do y'all love each other?!"
"We just started dating kiddo."
"I know but are y'all going to get married?"
"What- girl- go play. Just go ahead and go play." Royalty got up and ran around the playground with the other kids. Karina laughed and shook her head at the question.
When Chris came to pick up Royalty, Karina told him what Royalty said and he laughed.
"She is funny as hell...but what you say? You trynna marry me?" Chris said with a smirk and walked closer to her.
"Boy move." Karina laughed. "We been together for 24 hours...atleast give me 72." Chris laughed at Karina.
"You funny as hell. Like for real. Come over tonight."
"Don't you get tired of seeing me?"
"Never, so you coming or what?"
"I don't know Chris." Chris pouted and Karina scrunched up her face. "Yuck! If I say yes will you stop doing that ugly face?" Chris squinted his eyes at her and she laughed.
"Pleaseeeee?"
"Fine. I'll come over. What time?" Chris smiled at her.
"Come in like two hours." Karina nodded and they kissed. Karina walked back into her classroom and grabbed her things so she could leave. She stopped at Chick fil a and got something to eat before heading home to change clothes. She devoured her nuggets and fries and changed into some black biker shorts, black jacket and her slides. Karina made her way to Chris house and when she showed up, he made her cover her eyes.
"Chris, what is going on?"
"Stop asking questions. Just walk." He walked her upstairs into a room and sat her on a stool. "Open." Karina opened her eyes and smiled.
"What is this?"
"You said you wished you learned how to draw and paint so I'm your instructor today." Chris grabbed glasses from his pocket and put them on. Karina laughed.
"You are something else. What we drawing and painting?"
"We gon start off simple today. We gon draw a single rose in a vase and then paint it." Karina smiled and nodded her head. "You ready?"
"I'm ready for my lesson Mr.Brown." Karina said. Chris shook his head.
"You gon get yourself in trouble talking like that." Karina laughed and taught her how to draw step by step. As the lesson went on, the two continued to laugh and talk and get to know more about each other.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"You don't have to ask if you can ask a question Rina." Chris chuckled.
"Why didn't your other relationships work?" Chris looked at her and then looked away, continuing to draw. "If you don't feel comfortable answering right now then you don't have to."
"I was cheating...and some other things I don't want to talk about." Karina nodded and continued to draw on her sheet. It was quiet. "Why you ain't respond?"
"Cause i'm trying to make sure my painting looks better than yours." Karina and Chris both laugh but Chris was afraid. Afraid that he would do the same stupid shit he did with the rest of his exes. He clenched his jaw as he began to paint. Karina could see he was in deep thought so she got up, stood behind him and draped her arms on his shoulders. "Whatever it is you are in deep thought about probably doesn't even matter right now...stop worrying about stuff that hasn't even happened because if you keep feeding it...then it'll grow. Just vibe nigga." Chris laughed at her and nodded his head.
"Thank you Great Philosopher Wright." Karina bent at the hips with her hands together and Chris laughed loudly again.
