Chapter 11

Lily's POV

"Hello?" Her voice said over the phone.

"Grandma." I said smiling.

"Lily? It's three o'clock in the morning. Why are you calling me this early?" She asked.

"I couldn't sleep and you were the first person that came to mind and I wanted to call you." I said letting a tear slip.

"Awe Lily-Pad." My grandma said. That was my nickname she called me when I was younger.

"When can I come visit you?" I asked.

"Soon. Hopefully next month." She said.

"Why next month?" I asked.

"Your birthday silly." She said. I giggled.

"So, are things going better? With your mother and Derek?" She asked.

"No. Derek actually left a bruise on my side on Tuesday." I said.

"Awe sweetie." She said sadly.

"Yeah, I just can't wait until June. Then I'll be done with High School and I can hopefully move out of my house." I said.

"Yeah. Well it's still late. So I'll give you a call tomorrow sweetheart." She said.

I nodded my head before answering.

"I miss you." I said letting another tear slip.

"I miss you too Lily. Now get some sleep. I love you Lily-Pad" She said.

"I love you too grandma." I said before hanging up.

I wiped away my tears before walking back into Gabe's room and laying down next to him. I sniffled before wiping away another tear.

"Are you okay?" Gabe asked.

I shook my head and looked at him.

"What's going on?" He asked.

"I just got off the phone with my grandma. She's the only grandma I talk to. She's on my dad's side." I said.

"Oh." He said.

I nodded and bit my lip and let another tear slip.

"Hey don't cry. When is the next time you get to see her?" He asked.

"Hopefully next month." I said.

"That's great." He said.

I shrugged my shoulders before looking at him.

"At least you get to see her." He said.

I nodded my head before pressing my forehead against his.

"You know I love you?" I said.

"I love you too." He said before pecking my lips gently.

"Come on. We have school tomorrow and we need to get some sleep." He said.

I nodded before turning my back towards him and he pulled me closer to him. He kissed my neck sending chils down my back. Soon we were fast asleep.
