Chapter 23

Gabe's POV

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck! I screwed up! I've never seen Lily like that before.

I paced around my room trying not to freak out.

I hope she's okay. Please be okay Lily.

"Gabe?" I heard a voice say.

I turned around hoping to see Lily, but I saw Sofia.

"Hey what happened to Lily, she walked out of the house crying?" She asked.

"I fucked up! I blamed her for something she didn't do and now I feel like crap. Today is just not going good!" I said letting tears fall.

Sofia came up to me and pulled me in for a hug.

"Do you want me to call her?" She asked.

"You can try." I said wiping away tears.

She nodded before pulling out her phone and dialing her number.

"Put it on speaker." I said as she did.

(Lily Sofia)

Hello?

Hey. You feeling okay?

No. I feel like absolute crap. I mostly feel terrible for yelling at Gabe.

Well he misses you.

I miss him too. And I love him to pieces.

Once she said that, I let more tears fall.

Well can you please come back?

I don't know.

Well just know we'll be here when you come back.

Lily? Lily?

My heart started pounding.

AHHHH!

Lily!!

The line went dead and my breathing hitched. Sofia looked at me with wide eyes.

"We need to find her!" I said before putting my shoes on and we ran downstairs.

Lily's POV

I woke up and the lights were off. I looked around and saw my step dad and mom staring at me with the look of threat in their eyes.

I tried to move but I was tied down.

"Quit moving!" Derek yelled.

My breathing got heavier and my heart was pounding.

"So. How have you been sweetie?" My mom asked.

"Don't call me that!" I spat.

"Oooo someone's got some attitude. Maybe you shouldn't have done that." My mom smirked before looking at my Derek.

He nodded before pulling out a knife and coming up to me and running it across my face.

"Lily, can I tell you something?" My mom said.

I looked at her and she glared at me.

"You're the reason why your father died." She said.

I let tears fall before Derek slapped me.

"And for that, we're gonna hurt you. So you know the pain I had to go through." She said.

Then before I could speak, everything went blank.
