Chapter 41

2 weeks later

Lily's POV

"Winter Formal is tonight!" Sofia said barging into my room.

I sat up in shock. I totally forgot about Winter Formal. I've been in the hospital for three weeks that I completely spaced about it.

"Do you have a dress?" Sofia asked.

"Yeah. But it's not the dress I've been wanting." I said.

"Okay well while Gabe is at Brennen's house we can go dress shopping. Let's go!" Sofia said basically dragging me out of the room and into the car.

We drive to the mall and walked into the dress store.

"Hi I'm Aaliyah. Is there anything I can help you with?" A worker asked.

"We're looking for a dress. Winter Formal is tonight and she doesn't have a dress." Sofia said pointing to me.

The worker pondered for a minute before going and picking a few dresses.

"What color tie is Gabe wearing?" I asked.

"I'll text him." Sofia said while pulling out her phone.

A few seconds later, Sofia's phone buzzed.

"Dark blue." Sofia said.

I nodded before going up to the worker.

"So my boyfriend is wearing a dark blue tie and I want to match him." I said kindly.

Aaliyah nodded before picking out a few dark blue dresses. I took the dresses from her and walked into a dressing room.

I tried on the first dress. It was kind of sparkly at the top, was spaghetti strapped and went down to my ankles.

I walked out and showed Sofia.

"Eh. Doesn't really go with you skin tone." She said.

I sighed before going in and trying on the other dress. It was plain at the top and went down to about my shins. I showed Sofia and she shook her head.

I tried the last one on. It was strapless, and went down to about my knees. I showed Sofia and she gasped.

"Oh my gosh that's the one!" She squealed.

I laughed before I went back into the dressing room and put my clothes on and walked out with the dress in my hand.

We paid for the dress and then went to find shoes to match. We ended up finding a pair of plain dark blue heels and then went home.

Sofia helped me so my makeup and do my hair. I had on light makeup and my hair was curled.

"Okay it starts in about an hour so we can watch tv for about half an hour and then you can get in you dress." Sofia explained.

I nodded before we walked downstairs and watched tv for a little bit.

Half an hour later

I ran upstairs and put on my dress before looking at myself in the mirror actually liking what I saw.

I smiled before I put my heels on and walked out to the car. I drive to Brennen's house and walked to the front door.
