Chapter 48

Lily's POV

"Lily. Wake up." I heard someone say.

I opened my eyes and saw Gabe hovering over me. I flinched causing him to laugh.

"Did I scare you?" He asked.

"No I had to hick-up." I said sarcastically.

He laughed before leaning down and pressing his lips against mine. The kiss was passionate at first but then got heated. Gabe ran his hands up leg sending chills all through my body.

I wrapped my arms around his neck pulling him in for a deeper kiss.

"Gabe! Lily! Come downstairs!" Mrs. Conte said through the door.

Gabe sighed as I bit my lip and I smiled at him. He pecked my lips one last time before we got up and went downstairs.

"How come you're not wearing your pajamas?" Mrs. Conte asked.

"I got really hot after we opened presents so I changed into shorts and a T-shirt." I explained.

She nodded before setting a plate of pancakes covered in strawberries, bananas, and whip cream.

"This looks delicious!" I said before taking a bite and almost melting.

Mrs. Conte smiled in satisfaction before her, Mr. Conte, Nico, and Sofia finished their pancakes.

"So what's the plan for the day?" Gabe asked.

"We're not quite sure yet. I know we said we'd be busy today, because we're always busy on Christmas, but today I don't know." Mr. Conte explained.

I nodded my head before finishing my food. I got up, set my dishes in the sink and went upstairs. I quickly changed into leggings and a sports bra, but couldn't find a shirt or jacket to wear.

I kept getting frustrated before I just collapsed on the bed. I then felt my heart beat her faster and it hurt. I took a deep breath and tried not to think about it.

"Hey Lily. Are you okay?" Gabe asked.

I looked over at him and giggled. I sat up, walked over to him and smiled at him.

"What?" He asked.

"You have whip cream on your nose." I giggled.

Gabe wipes his nose with his finger before wiping it on a tissue.

I then remembered that I couldn't find a shirt. I then got frustrated again.

"You're cute when you're frustrated." Gabe said.

I gave him a death glare and he came up to me.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"I can't find a shirt or a sweatshirt to wear." I huffed.

Gabe grabbed his blue Recognizd sweatshirt before handing it to me.

I put it on before I wrapped my arms around myself. I then felt two arms around my waist. I turned around and saw Gabe looking at me.

He smiled before he leaned in to kiss me. Our lips moved perfectly before we heard a knock.

"Stop sucking faces and get downstairs!" Sofia yelled.

Gabe and I broke out laughing.

"You're sister is amazing." I said catching my breath.

We walked downstairs to see a couple of people.

"Oh my god!" Gabe yelled before running up and giving them a hug.

I stood there awkwardly and looked down at my hands.

"Granmda, grandpa. This is my girlfriend Lily." Gabe said.

"Hello sweetie." His grandma said while hugging me.

His grandpa shook my hand and smiled at me.

They sat on the couch before I almost fell over in pain. I took a deep breath before sitting on the ground next to Gabe.

"We would have gotten you a present but we didn't know you were gonna be here." His grandma said while handling everyone a present.

"Oh I'm okay." I said smiling.

Everyone opened their presents and were all happy by what they got.

We then decided to eat breakfast even though we had lunch not even an hour ago.

I carefully stood up from the ground before feeling like I was gonna fall over in pain.

We went into the kitchen and sat at the table while Mrs. Conte made spaghetti. Sadly I had to sit at the separate end of the table wayyyyy across from Gabe so of course it would be a long walk if i had to get to Gabe.

I then felt like my heart was gonna pound out of my chest.

I can't breathe. Im gonna die.

I got up from my chair and tried walking to Gabe.

"Gabe!" I said before blacking out.

Gabe's POV

"Gabe!"

I turned around and saw Lily on the floor. I ran up to her as fast as I could before flipping her onto her back and saw that she was barely breathing.

"SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE!" I yelled as tears started streaming down my face.

No no NO! She can't be dying!

I didn't even hear my dad hang up the phone before he rushed over to my side.

"She had a heart transplant a few weeks ago and the doctor said it may or may not be successful. What if she's dying?" I yelled as my dad patted my back.

We then heard the sirens and before we knew it, the EMT's were setting Lily on a stretcher and rolled her out to the truck.

"Only two people are allowed to come with us." One of them said.

Me and Sofia ran out to the truck and sat and both sides of Lily. I grabbed her hand and the truck started moving. The EMT's put an oxygen mask on her before we started driving.

"Please be okay Lily."
