You haven't seen much of your vigilante friend.

Then again, it was summer break, so it's possible that he returned home with all the other students. From his stature and what you could make out from his face, he didn't seem that much older than you.

Now that you thought about it, his jaw did seem a little familiar.

"So you're still here after all."

Your eyes lift and you smile at the sight of him fixing your curtains.

"Mr. Daredevil! It's good to see you. It's been a minute."

"About two weeks I think."

You nod.

"Just about." You confirm with a hum.

You have a lot of questions. Like what did he do when he wasn't fighting crime, did he ever work out his love troubles? What's his favorite color? You hadn't realized before, but everytime he came he'd just let you rant about your issues.

"So, what's new with you?"

It's taken you a moment to realize he's still standing at the window. Before he seemed composed, but there was now a stiffness in his form.

"Mr. Daredevil?"

He flinched, as if just registering his name.

"Yes, sorry I.."

He cursed internally. He really thought the effects would have faded by now. Last week you promised not to use anymore of that perfume because you joked that you didn't need him trying to jump you during a class.

He could smell the hints of your soap, but the lingering scent of that perfume seemed to have blended in with your natural scent. He took a step back and you were moving to his side in a hurry.

"A-Are you hurt again?"

He shook his head and intended to put some distance, but you took his arm to search for injury and this time he cursed aloud. You released him, afraid that you'd strained something. All he did was take one step and your eyes were wide.

His hand was pressed behind your head, lips against your own. He didn't process what he'd done until he felt you push him away. He stumbled and you took some steps back, hand now pressed to your lips in shock. He gaped, mind trying to put all the pieces together. The second they had, he faltered.

"I'm..I'm so sorry."

That's all he said before he basically bolted out the window. For that stretch of time, you just continued to stare, but your brain ran through it all. His words, reaction, that kiss...

The look of shock slowly changed to utter disbelief.

"Matt.."

It wasn't possible.

It couldn't be.
