Matt Murdock (Daredevil)

Chapter 20

Now that you're both on better footing, you find yourself asking all the questions. 

Matt had just gotten off his shift and immediately came to see you. It's adorable how needy he's gotten. You know that the short space of time has made him very appreciative of your presence. Sitting on your couch, your eyes are on the television screen, but your mind keeps drifting.

"So..you are blind right?"

He can't help but smile.

"I am."

"Cool, cool. Please elaborate."

He fights his laugh at your words. He knows you're wondering how a blind man was able to subdue a guy with injuries to boot.

"I had an accident when I was a kid. It took my sight, but it enhanced all my other senses. I can feel, hear, smell things that normal people can't."

You nod as he explains his capabilities. Now that he's explaining it, somehow it makes sense. You can't believe you never noticed before but his eyes are fully covered in that outfit. You just always assumed he had some kind of lens under there.

"Is that why you reacted that way to the perfume?"

His mind trails back, and he nods slowly.

"Yeah it..it's hard to explain. I've never really reacted that way to a scent before. At first I did think it was the perfume, but I think it was more the chemicals in the spray when they came in contact with your skin. It might have just amplified your natural scent."

"Oh."

So a heightened smell of you makes him irrationally horny.

That's good to know.

You look down at your lap and Matt chuckles.

"Your heart rate just increased. Did it make you that happy?"

You flush.

"N-No fair! D-Don't use your superhuman powers on me!"

He just smiles.

"I'm glad that we can talk about this. It's been hard keeping this to myself. I know I put you in a tough position with Foggy, but I appreciate you keeping my secret."

Looking at it from his point of view, you can fully understand. It's not something that can be easily explained, even to the most rational mind.

"Someday I do want to tell him the truth, I just don't think that I can.." 

He struggles to find the words and you take his hand. His head turns to you.

"It's okay. When that day comes, maybe we can tell him together."

You're just as terrified of Foggy every finding out about your powers, so you can't blame Matt's hesitance. He squeezes your hand with a nod.
