"Y/n, please, not today," Jungkook muttered, clearly annoyed.

"I didn't come here for nothing," you said, crossing your arms. "I need you to finish this homework of mine. It's due after the 14th, so take your time."

"I'm sure you don't want to test my patience. Don't forget that," you added before leaving.

After you left, Jungkook packed his bag and headed to his locker. He rushed to the restroom, seeking solace in a stall. As he sat down, his emotions spilled over. The girl he loved, the girl he had cherished, no longer remembered him. She had been in an accident coming back from her part-time job, and the doctor had told him she lost her memories of the past three years. They had been together for two years, so she had forgotten about him, about them. Even their parents knew about their relationship.

The doctor had strictly advised them not to force her to remember anything. The risk was too great. Jungkook had pulled away, respecting the boundaries. When she returned to college, he was elated but heartbroken to see her bullying him, though not in a harsh way. She had become the 'bad girl' of the college, stopping bullies but now making him do her homework.

Despite everything, Jungkook was grateful for any interaction with her. He couldn't bear the thought of her with someone else. She remembered everyone at college, but he had transferred a year later. They had been instructed by the principal not to reveal their past.

As he washed his face and composed himself, he saw you leaning against the locker, seemingly waiting for someone.

Do you have a date to prom?" you asked as soon as you saw him.

"Umm... N-no, I wasn't planning to go," Jungkook stammered, nervous and confused.

"Okay, then you're going with me. Pick me up on the 14th at 8 p.m. I'll text you the address later. The color theme is red. Bye," you said, grabbing your bag and leaving the college.

Jungkook was ecstatic. "Wait—Oh my god, I'm her date? I can't believe it!" He was thrilled that you chose him over the others trying to get close to you after the accident. He was also relieved that no one had made a scene about being her boyfriend before the accident. You had quite a fan base, and Jungkook had turned down several proposals because of his feelings for you.

Jungkook was pretty much known too, has received couple of proposals but rejected them for sure because of Y/n.He was not much known like Y/n.

As you got into your father's car, your thoughts drifted to Jungkook. Your father's voice interrupted your reverie.

"How was your day?" he asked, starting the car.

"Good. Did you have breakfast, Dad?" you replied.

"No, just coffee and a snack," he answered.

"You'll be in trouble when you get home," you warned.

"My lovely daughter is there for that, isn't she?" he said with a smile.

"Yeah, sure," you replied. He had always been your best friend, and you shared everything with each other.

Your thoughts returned to Jungkook. Since returning to college after the accident, every time you saw him, your heart raced and you felt drawn to him. You wondered why you started making him do things, even though he seemed capable of standing up for himself.

Do you like him? That was the question tormenting you. It felt like there was a connection between you two from before the accident, though you couldn't recall the details. The emotions you felt around Jungkook suggested you had feelings for him.

You considered whether you had a boyfriend during those lost years. If you did, wouldn't he be heartbroken knowing you now liked someone else? Your doctor advised against forcing yourself to remember, so your parents had kept quiet about those years.

Wouldn't you have mentioned a boyfriend to your father? You estimated an 80% chance you would have. Perhaps asking him could clear up some of your confusion.
