As the dance and performances carried on, the atmosphere at the engagement party was electric, filled with laughter and joy. But amidst the celebration, your gaze caught something troubling—a man was dragging Jisoo towards a secluded corner, speaking in low tones. Whatever he said caused Jisoo's eyes to well up with tears, and without a second thought, you rushed over to her. The man quickly left, but the damage was done.
You approached Jisoo, your expression laced with concern. "What happened?" you asked softly, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Through her tears, Jisoo explained the situation, her voice trembling with emotion. You listened, your worry growing, then glanced over at Jungkook, who was lost in the crowd, dancing and laughing with his friends. You knew you had to talk to him.
Determined, you made your way through the throngs of people, your eyes fixed on Jungkook. Reaching him, you extended your hand towards him, hoping he would understand your urgency. He turned, his face lighting up with surprise and a wide smile when he saw you.
"You and me? Dance?" he asked, his voice playful yet delighted.
You nodded, but there was a weight behind your gesture "Wow," he said, his grin broadening. "Something something?" he teased, leaning in slightly to get a better look at your face.
Your lips pressed into a thin line, and with a worried expression, you nodded again. "Something something."
Hearing that, Jungkook's smile widened, he couldn't help but playfully dance in place, as if he'd just won a prize.
Soon, you and Jisoo stood in a quiet corner of the room. Jungkook, now sitting at the base of a pillar, listened attentively as Jisoo, wiping her tears, began to speak.
"I gave him a love letter during our college days," Jisoo admitted, her voice barely a whisper. "But later, I found out he wasn't a good person. I left it all behind, but now... he's using that letter to blackmail me. He's threatening to ruin my wedding if I don't give him money." Her tears flowed freely now, and you rubbed her back gently, trying to soothe her.
"He told her to gather money from all of us," you added, your voice heavy with disbelief. "And if she doesn't go to his house, he said he'll make the letters public, humiliate her in front of everyone."
Jungkook's eyes widened as he processed what you were saying. He let out a breath and called you over with a serious expression. "Is this your 'something something'?" he asked, his voice tinged with frustration, though he tried to hide it.
You gave him an apologetic look. "A problem like this can only be understood by someone our age. How can we go to our elders? They wouldn't get it." You sighed, looking at Jungkook with a hopeful gaze. "So, you have to do something about this."
Jungkook exhaled, rubbing his temple. He glanced between you and Jisoo before giving a soft sigh. Finally, he stood up and walked over to Jisoo, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "Hey, Jisoo," he said gently. "Don't worry. I know how to get those letters back.
As you stood outside the dark house, Jungkook pulled out a screwdriver and began fiddling with the door lock. "See how I open the door?" he said triumphantly, grinning as the lock clicked open. He gave the screwdriver a quick kiss, and you looked at him in shock.
"Is this what you used to do in London?" you asked, raising an eyebrow.
Jungkook smirked, leaning closer. "What? Kissing?" he teased.
You scrunched your face in disgust. "Ew!"
Laughing, Jungkook shrugged it off, and you both turned on your flashlights, stepping cautiously into the dimly lit house. The place was eerily quiet until a sudden noise startled you—a faint growl echoing from deeper inside the house.
