You were at the venue, picking up the kettle, when you suddenly found Lyla standing in front of you, her presence a bit intimidating. You smiled nervously and asked, "Do you want tea, aunty?"
Lyla gave you a firm nod, and as you started preparing the tea, she moved closer and asked, "How old are you?"
"Twenty," you replied softly, feeling a bit uneasy under her gaze.
As this was happening, Jisoo's grandmother discreetly moved the unrelated guests outside, sensing that a confrontation was about to occur.
Lyla's tone shifted slightly. "You're too smart for your age."
Confused, you looked at her. She then asked, "Who else is in your family?"
You smiled again, trying to stay polite. "Just me and my brother."
Lyla nodded, probing further. "And what does your brother do?"
"Farming," you answered. "We have poultry and cattle, and we sell milk too."
Her face remained unreadable as she continued. "Does your brother know you came to this marriage?"
"Yes, aunty," you replied confidently. "I don't go anywhere without telling my brother."
Suddenly, her expression hardened. "Then did you trap my son with your brother's permission?" she asked angrily, making you freeze on the spot. Shocked, you looked at her, unable to find the words.
"Why are you quiet?" Lyla demanded, her voice rising.
At that moment, Arvin appeared, smirking. "What could she say? Things have gone haywire," he added, fueling the situation.
Just then, Jisoo rushed over, having heard what was happening. Her father, Layan, also appeared, glancing at you sternly. "I was impressed by your participation in the chores," he said coldly. "I didn't realize your true nature."
You felt your breath hitch, panic rising as the situation spiraled out of control. Tears welled in your eyes, but you blinked them back, determined not to let them fall. You felt cornered, trapped in their accusations.
"Look at her innocent act," Lyla sneered.
"It was all an act," Arvin added.
Jisoo stepped in, determined to defend you. "What happened? Why are you scolding her?"
Arvin didn't hesitate. "We're all busy with your wedding, and she's trying to get with Jungkook."
Jisoo's face hardened. "Uncle, don't say whatever comes to your mind. Jungkook liked her first."
Arvin smirked. "Very clever of her."
"Uncle, please—" Jisoo started, but her father cut her off.
"This is a matter for the elders to handle," Layan said firmly. "Go inside."
But Jisoo wasn't willing to back down. "Daddy, whatever happens, let's wait until Jungkook comes back to discuss this."
Layan silenced her with a sharp look. "This isn't your concern," he said before turning to Lyla, who stormed toward you.
"If you have any bit of shame left, get out," she spat, making you flinch.
Arvin joined in, his voice dripping with disdain. "Leave and go find someone else to fool with your tricks."
Finally, you couldn't hold back the tears anymore. You burst into sobs, and just as Jisoo moved to comfort you, her father pulled her back, scolding her.
You couldn't bear it any longer. You turned and ran toward the entrance, your vision blurred by tears. But as you reached the door, you stopped abruptly—your brother was there. Seeing him, you quickly wiped your tears, trying to compose yourself.
