Guys i befriended a mosquito on accident and it bit me and my finger is swollen... this is for @charliebushnellishot
I've been hiding for so long.
These feelings, they're not gone.
Could I tell anyone?
Clarisse La Rue had come to terms with the fact that she liked girls a long time ago. WHat she couldn't quite come to terms with however was the particular girl she had fallen for.
Y/n L/n, daughter of Athena.
The girl was gorgeous, everybody at camp knew that. When Clarisse first felt the butterflies flutter in her stomach when they made eye contact, she assumed it would be a passing crush.
She never told any of her siblings, she didn't even tell her best friend Silena.
It was just a crush, it would go away in a week or two.
Yet almost a year after they first met, Clarisse still found herself completely entranced by the Athena girl. There was nothing she could do to make the feelings go away.
It didn't help that her and Y/n had become fairly good friends in the year that they had known each other. They would hang out and train together and every time they did Clarisse could feel herself falling more and more.
She was a daughter of war, she shouldn't be wasting her time on feelings, on a little crush. But Y/n wasn't just a little crush to her. That was the problem.
Afraid of what they'll say.
So I push them away.
I'm acting so strange.
Y/n L/n was not supposed to feel this way.
She always listened to logic and always did things the way they should be done.
So then why did she find herself staring at her friend Clarisse a little longer than she needed to? Why did her gaze flicker down to her lips when the daughter of Ares spoke? Why did Y/n feel her entire body heat up when they touched?
She didn't understand these feelings, or why she was having them for that matter. It was terrifying for her. Y/n had no idea how to react, no idea what to do.
Her siblings noticed a shift in her demeanor, she didn't tell them what was going on in her mind. The thoughts she was having, the urges, the feelings.
What if they resented her for it? Or thought she was weird?
No, she decided, she wouldn't tell them. She wouldn't tell anybody ever.
This would all be over soon, right?
They're so pretty it hurts.
I'm not talking 'bout boys I'm talking 'bout girls.
They're so pretty in their button up shirts.
Y/n was perfect, and to Clarisse that was all the more reason they couldn't be together.
Y/n walked around like the textbook example of what an Athena kid could be, favored by her mother, intelligent, bright, logical.
Clarisse knew her to be caring and friendly, but regardless Y/n was not an emotional person. Her calm demeanor would clash with Clarisse's oftentimes intense rage.
Clarisse tried to convince herself that they would be a terrible match for one another. That she couldn't let herself think that even for a second anything would work out between the two of them.
