《Don't got your back》
The meeting room is buzzing with activity as the team arrives, clearly excited to be back together.
They gather around the large table, exchanging hugs and greetings. While Minhyun, on the rare occasion, had joined them at the head of the table, looking unusually serious. Even for Minhyun.
"Alright, everyone, settle down. We need to talk." Minhyun said.
The team falls silent, sensing the gravity in Minhyun's tone. It was rare to have Minhyun in person rather than over the read phone, even with the new group rebranding.
"What's going on, Minhyun?" Seungcheol asked as he sat down next to Minhyun.
"We have a problem. Our new weapon storage facility was broken into and completely destroyed." Minhyun said, turning a large screen to face them.
"What? How did this happen?" The8 asked in shock, that facility was barely 2 months old, with top-of-the-line security.
"We're still investigating, but it looks like it was a coordinated attack. The facility was completely trashed-everything was stolen or destroyed." Minhyun sighed.
"That's a significant blow. How could this happen without us knowing?" Mingyu asked.
"I have no clue. But it appears they knew exactly what they were doing." Minhyun said.
"So we're back to square one with our weaponry?" Jeonghan groaned. He had JUST gotten a new set of knives, and now they are gone?!
"Yes, we need to reassess our inventory and find alternatives. It's going to set us back. But Leeknow has offered to help us." Minhyun said, motioning to their new weapons coordinator, who was sitting at the far end of the table with Han.
"You guys have nothing to worry about. I've been working in weapon development for years. I've helped design and rebuild weapons for various teams and 3racha as you all know. I'm confident I can get us back on track." Leeknow said.
Only a handful of the Seventeen members (Minus 3racha) have met Leeknow, let alone see him in action. But it's not like they had all that many choices.
"Alright, you got my vote. But what's your plan?" DK asked.
"I'll need to assess the damage and figure out what we can salvage. I'll also need a full inventory of what was lost so we can prioritize what to rebuild first." Leeknow explained.
"And how long will that take?" Jeonghan asked.
If I have the details, I can get a preliminary plan together within a few days. We'll need to move quickly, but I'll make sure we're equipped as soon as possible." Leeknow added.
"That's the plan. Leeknow will be working closely with all of you to make sure we're back in business." Minhyun nodded.
"Do we have any leads who did this and why. There must be a reason they targeted us." Bangchan asked.
"We've reviewed the security footage from the hidden cameras. I can't recognize them, but maybe you can." Minhyun said, turning the screen back to them.
As the video plays on the screen, the team watches as masked figure moves stealthily through the facility, systematically destroying everything in their path.
"Wait a minute. Pause it there." Dino said as the video pauses, showing a close-up of the intruder.
"I recognize him. That's Kim Doyoung." Dino said before turning to Haechan in shock.
"Wait Doyoung?!" Wonwoo said, pushing to the front to see the screen.
"I thought he said he'd leave us alone!" Woozi said.
"That's what he SAID he would do!" Wonwoo fired back as Dino looked back and forth between the 2 in confusion.
"How do you guys know Doyoung?" Dino asked.
"While you were in Japan, we had a mission in L.A involving Doyoung." Seungcheol explained.
"Doyoung was working as an assign tracking down one of my friends." Joshua added.
"But you said nothing about him when I got back. Why keep that from me?" Dino asked.
"We didn't know you and Doyoung would know each other. It was odd enough for me and him to run into each other." Wonwoo clarified.
"Me and Doyoung were raised in the same orphanage. We trained as assassins together before going our separate ways." Wonwoo explained.
"You knew him?!" Dino asked in shock as Wonwoo nodded.
"Yes. I considered him a friend, but we lost touch after our paths diverged." Wonwoo said. "If I'd known he was planning this, I would have tried to reach out, to stop this before it escalated."
"How do you know Doyoung?" Jeonghan asked Dino, successfully cutting into the conversation.
"He was Taeyong's boyfriend." Dino said.
"Taeyong? Your older brother?" Hoshi asked as Dino and Haechan nodded.
"Yeah. Doyoung must have found out that Seungcheol killed Taeyong." Haechan pointed out.
"I had no idea Doyoung was connected to Taeyong..." Seungcheol said in surprise.
"It doesn't matter now. What matters is that Doyoung has a reason for this. He's out for revenge, and he's clearly targeting us." Dino cut the leader off.
"Hey, you don't think we can convince him to join to group?" Seungkwan asked.
"Yeah that's not gonna work a second time. I'm still shocked it worked the first time." Dino rolled his eyes.
"Alright. So what's the plan now? How do we handle Doyoung?" Changbin asked.
"First, we need to reinforce our security and find out where Doyoung is hiding. We'll have to be vigilant and prepared for anything." Woozi said.
"I'll get the Ateez members on the line, we're gonna need all the help we can get." Seungkwan said as Vernon nodded in agreement.
"Then let's get to work." Seungcheol nodded.
