WELCOME, (L/N) (Y/N)
STANDING in Kyojuro's kitchen, wondering what she should make, (Y/N) suddenly perked up when remembering that he had a lot of tea. But then she let out a sigh when realizing she only knew how to make coffee, and not tea. And as much as she was sure the Hashira liked coffee, drinking it so late in the afternoon probably wasn't the best idea. Drumming her fingers on the counter as she stared at the equipment before her, she frowned.Damn.
How do I not know how to make tea?
"What are you doing?"
Startled, (Y/N) whirled around to face Muichiro. He stood there with that ever blank expression on his face, and he stared at her as if he were looking at something strange and wasn't sure if he liked it or disliked it yet. While just that thought alone made her give an awkward wave, she tried to push past such pondering to instead give him a smile.
"I was just about to make some tea for everyone... but I've realized that I do not know how to," she admitted rather sheepishly.
"I know how to make tea," he proclaimed.
"Oh, do you think you could help me?" She questioned whilst gesturing to the pot and tea leaves. "I know you must boil water, but how hot must it be considering this type of tea? And how many leaves do I even put in? I'm not sure of any of this, so if you wouldn't mind...?"
"How do you not know how to do such a simple task?" Muichiro murmured as he walked further into the kitchen to prep the boiling water on the iron stove before adding the tea leaves.
"I grew up a bit differently..." she trailed off, however didn't say anything more.
"How so?" He tilted his head.
Well...
I can't just say I grew up basically in the future and from an entirely different world, can I?
"It's a bit complicated," she lightly shrugged off his question. "It was just a skill I never really needed to learn, you know?"
Muichiro glanced up at her, finding the rather forlorn expression on her face confusing. He had never been one that was very good at reading social cues or what another person was feeling as he had no need to since the only thing he stayed focused on was completely obliterating demons. He never let emotions guide him, as he knew that doing so would only hinder his actions. But (Y/N) so clearly let almost everything of what she was feeling show on her face; she was an open book even obvious to Muichiro.
"You should probably learn now, then," he further commented with a small tilt of his head.
"Right..."
Silence descended between them.
(Y/N) glanced at the boy from the corner of her eye wondering what he was thinking in that moment. She wondered if he would forget her after leaving Kyojuro's house, and while the thought left her wilting, she was just happy to be talking with him nonetheless.
