(Y/N) left Douma after about three days of rest, feeling a bit uneasy with how everything was playing out. She felt as if something was drastically wrong with the system considering the way Douma's favorability and thoughts were glitching—a fact that unnerved her greatly.
Maybe I'm overthinking?
...no.
I'm not.
Exhaling softly, she glanced back at Douma's sprawling temple once more. Her expression was conflicting as she stared, her mind recalling the moments between herself and the Upper Rank that, more often than not, left her anxious and puzzled. She wondered how he wanted this game of theirs to end, but that didn't mean she wanted to find out firsthand. Turning back around, (Y/N) continued trekking down the mountain to resume her journey back towards Kyojuro's manor.
I still can't help but be nervous, since, if Douma knows I am a Demon Slayer... why let me go? Is this his way of manipulating me into a false sense of security?
Ugh.
With night soon falling, (Y/N) traveled to one of the nearby towns that her Kasugai Crow directed her towards, soon enough able to see the roofs of houses above the tree line.
"Oh, finally," she sighed in relief.
After renting a place for the night, she bathed, washed her clothes, and then set them out to dry. Dressing in a borrowed loose kimono whilst strapping her sword to her hip just in case, she went out to find a place to eat. The sun by then had dipped below the clouds, bringing with it the night crowd who filled the streets looking for festivities. (Y/N) didn't pay much attention to the crowd as her growling stomach was the key factor that spurred her on to seek out dinner, only startled from her mini quest by the system's notification.
