IT didn't take long to figure out this particular demon's MO, as only adult men were the ones to have gone missing. Then again, these very men were often the ones who caused trouble in the town, associated with groups that upheld very unpleasant agendas for those that crossed them. (Y/N) shuddered at the thought of what type of punishments they'd dole out, currently walking away from an elderly shop owner who kindly gave her all the information she needed.
Hm...
If the demon favors men, with how many that have gone missing and how Tengen was assigned the case, it's fair to say this might be Akaza. I means, he is the only Upper Rank demon who only kills men.
But, I could be wrong.
We'll see.
Nimbly jumping upwards onto the roof of one of the buildings, (Y/N) met up with Tengen who had been surveying the town from above whilst she gathered the information below. She wondered if he was internally mapping out the territory, something that made sense considering how his entire attitude shifted come the involvement of demons.
"Well, how'd it go, my Tsuguko?" Tengen smirked up at her from where he crouched, having taken a liking to calling her by said monicker.
"The demon takes about three men a night, and usually they're all gang members or convicts of some kind," she answered him with a small chuckle, crouching beside him so she wouldn't draw too much attention. "It's almost... moralistic, in a sense. Like they're a vigilante of some type. Funny considering this is a demon we're talking about."
"Funny, indeed..." he hummed, glancing at her.
Tengen wasn't sure what it was, but he liked having (Y/N) around. She was easy to talk to, and she followed every one of his orders so as not to put risk on their mission. If he thought about it, he was comfortable with her, and he couldn't help but somewhat wish that he had met her before Kyojuro. Mostly because he realized he wouldn't mind having a subordinate like her, finding that he quite liked the idea of her looking up to him and staying by his side for help and support.
"Good job," he then uttered, once more reaching over to ruffle her hair, smirking as he did so.
