The next day was Sunday and I would normally sleep in and relax, but Caitlyn was forcing me to go dress shopping. Just as I had finished getting ready there was a knock at my door and I came downstairs and swung it open to see my three best friends standing there.
"Who's ready to go shopping?!" Jasmine announced excitedly with a big smile on her face. "We haven't had girl time in forever. This is so overdue."
Shopping had always been Jasmine's favorite thing in the world.
Caitlyn had a look on her face like she was a little less enthusiastic about the whole thing, and Dominique was busy texting someone on her phone and loudly chewing her gum.
"You guys know I absolutely hate shopping," I whined.
"Yeah, well, I WANT to go shopping, but you NEED to go shopping," Jasmine laughed, shaking her head in judgement. "After I saw the pictures of you in that dress you wore to the country club, I realized how hot you could be if you just had a new wardrobe that didn't fit you like a potato sack. You need to wear fitted clothes that show your shape off more," Jasmine told me. Then she pulled a credit card out of her pocket and said with a smile, "And I have Daddy's credit card and I decided this month I'm going to use my allowance to buy you clothes instead of me."
I raised an eyebrow at her. "You would give up your monthly allowance for me?"
"Yeah," She nodded. "Consider it your birthday present. You only turn eighteen once. It's special."
I couldn't believe she'd really do that for me. The girl literally loved shopping more than breathing. She had a serious addiction.
"Look. I appreciate that you want to do a good deed, helping the less fortunate and all that," I laughed. "but I'm seriously fine. I don't need a new wardrobe."
Jasmine crossed her arms across her chest and raised a skeptical brow at me, saying, "Oh yeah? Then go get me the sexiest thing you have in your closet right now, and that dress Takashi's sister gave you doesn't count."
I laughed. "Jasmine, you know damn good and well that I don't have anything sexy in my closet. It's full of flannels, sweatpants, overalls and sweatshirts. But that's what I like. It's comfortable and easy. No fuss."
"Yeah well. No fuss and comfortable isn't gonna get you Takashi. Let's go," she ordered, hooking her arm through mine and pulling me towards the door. I knew when Jasmine set her mind to something there was no point in arguing.
"Fine," I said with an exhale, plodding out the door and towards the car with my friends and sliding into the backseat of Jasmine's silver Aston Martin convertible.
Caitlyn took the front seat and Dominique slid into the backseat with me. On the way to the mall Caitlyn pulled the visor down and opened the lighted mirror on it to put on some makeup. When she was done, she started taking selfies.
"Who are you sending pictures to?" Jasmine asked her.
"I'm sending snaps to Gavin," she said, as she took another picture, sticking her lips out and throwing up a peace sign with her fingers.
"Remind me. Who's Gavin?" Dominique asked, looking confused.
"He's the hot college guy I met on Tinder. I ended up meeting him at one of his frat parties on Friday night and went home with him after."
"Did you go home with him or did you GO HOME with him?" Dominique asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh he took me home alright," Caitlyn laughed. "ALL the way home."
My mouth dropped open in shock. I couldn't believe Caitlyn really slept with another guy. Even though they were technically broken up, it still felt like cheating.
