The next day before school I put on one of my new outfits that Jasmine had picked out for me. It was a pair of blue, high-waisted jeans that had a little stretch, so they hugged my curves and a white tank-top with a white cardigan over it. Jasmine told me cardigans were about to make a major comeback. The tank-top under it was low-cut enough to show some cleavage and short enough to show a couple inches of skin at my waist.

It was way more skin than I was used to showing and something I never would have picked out for myself, but I had to admit, it looked really good

It was way more skin than I was used to showing and something I never would have picked out for myself, but I had to admit, it looked really good. Jasmine knew what she was doing.

I pulled my long brown hair up into a messy bun and then slid on my big black-rimmed glasses before looking at my reflection again, smiling a little because I felt good and actually liked what I was wearing to school for once.

I checked the time on my phone and reluctantly slung my backpack up over my shoulder. When I got downstairs, I grabbed an apple out of the fridge, the only thing we had in there, before heading outside to wait for the school bus. It was a slightly chilly, cloudy day and it was lightly sprinkling, but unfortunately we didn't own an umbrella. That was one of the many luxuries that most households had, but my Mom thought was a waste of money.

I dropped my backpack onto the grass and pulled my cardigan up, hovering it over my head to block out the rain. I just hoped the bus would get there before my white shirt was soaked and see through. If I had known it was raining, I definitely would've worn something else.

Just as I heard the rumble of the school bus coming down the street, I lifted my head to see a fancy black BMW pulling up in front of my house.

The driver side door opened and a guy got out. When he turned around and took his sunglasses off, I realized it was Colton.

"Hey there stranger," he said with a big, white smile, leaning his arms onto the car's roof. "I thought I'd deliver your new car myself and spare you the torture of having to ride the bus today."

My mouth dropped open in shock as I looked back at the beautiful car he had just gotten out of. "Wait. THIS is the car your parents wanna give me?" I asked in disbelief. "I was expecting something old. This looks brand new."
