Wednesday's POV:
I watched as Enid slid on her shoes, and struggled to tie the laces. She's worse than the child...
After a few moments of watching her struggle, I decided to help her."Thank you," she mumbled, as her eyes locked onto my fingers and her cheeks flushed.
"Mhm," I hummed, while internally rolling my eyes. She's not discreet at all.
I stood up and held out my hand to her, I'm planning on taking her out for lunch and then to the local mall here. It's apparently the biggest mall in New Jersey, but I've never really paid attention to that. I just know she likes shopping, and I like seeing her happy."So, Where we going?" she asked, while pulling her phone from her pocket.
"To lunch, and then the American dream mall." I answered, as I reversed out of the driveway.
"Really?!" she exclaimed, while grabbing onto my arm.
"Yes, why do you seem so excited?"
"I've like always wanted to go to the American dream mall." she answered, as her grip on my arm loosened.
I nodded, and turned my eyes back to the road. I'm taking her to the Westfield steakhouse, because she's been complaining about not having actual steak at home. It's not my fault me nor Evelyn eat steak."How do you feel about steak for lunch?" I mumbled in question, she doesn't seem to excited at first. But the soft smile on her face says otherwise. I'm not sure if it's at what I asked, or if it's something on her phone that's making her smile. "Enid?"
"Huh?" she answered, while glancing over at me.
"Did you hear what I said?"
"No sorry, I was texting Yoko. Say it again." she said, while placing her phone in her lap, and turning her attention to me.
"I asked if you wanted steak for lunch."
"That sounds great," she answered, as she reached for the hand that rested on my lap.
We made it to the restaurant soon after, and got seated right when we walked in."Everything looks amazing," she mumbled, as her eyes scanned the menu. I nodded in response, while watching her. I get the same thing practically everywhere we go. It used to make Enid mad, but now she doesn't really care. Partly because Evelyn is the same exact way.
"Have you both decided on something?" our waiter asked, while pulling out a small notebook.
"Yes," Enid replied, with a soft smile.
"Who wants to start?" Enid looked over to me, I'm guessing she wants me to go first.
"A house salad with balsamic vinaigrette for dressing, and extra black olives."
"Uhm, and can I get the Filet mignon cooked medium rare please."
"Sure, what sides with that?"
"The vegetables, and an order of nachos." Enid answered, as she glanced over at me. She recently learned that I take a liking to nachos, ever since then she's been getting them for me everywhere we go.
"Coming right up," The waiter said, before walking away.
"Thank you," I mumbled, while messing with the stack of napkins on the table.
"Your welcome, mon cheri." she also likes to tease me with that, and courtesy to my new found 'feelings' it makes my cheeks warm everytime she says it.
Before I could respond, something on her phone seemed to take up her attention. I'm not going to say anything right now, I mean we aren't really doing anything.
I was fine reading something on my phone, until I heard Enid start to giggle. I'm not mad that she's happy, but I am a bit curious about what is channeling that happiness."What is it love?"
"Just something Yoko said," she answered, not even bothering to look up at me. I huffed, and went back to reading. Our food should be here soon anyway.
"Here's the salad, and your meal. If you need anything just call for me."
"Thank you," Enid said, still not looking up from her phone. What is so interesting about a conversation between her and Yoko?
"Enid?"
"What?"
"Could you put your phone down?" I asked, while twirling my fork around in my hand.
"Yeah, why?"
"Because we're eating." I answered, making her giggle. I guess something I said was funny?
"I'm not a child Wednesday." she stated, making my eyes immediately find hers.
"I never said you were, I just would like to speak with you and not have your eyes glued to a screen."
"Okay, sorry." after that we practically ate in silence.
After watching her mope back to the car, I sighed and opened my mouth to say something."Baby, stop with the pouting. I'm not mad at you."
"I know your not, I just didn't appreciate getting treated like our three year old."
"Well I don't appreciate feeling like I come second to Yoko, I'm your Wife Enid. Not Yoko."
"Don't you think I know that? I mean my last name is Addams, not Tanaka." she said, her voice slightly raising.
"So? Divina's last name is Tanaka, but you don't see her and I texting every second of everyday."
"First off that makes no sense, and second. You don't talk to anyone, but me and your parents."
"Exactly my point."
"So what, you just don't want me to have a life outside of you?"
"That's not what I said Enid,"
"Well it sure as hell sounded like it."
"You know I didn't mean it like that."
"Then what did you mean Wednesday!?"
"I just would appreciate when we finally have time for just the two of us, that your not on your phone texting Yoko."
"So this rule is just for Yoko?"
"Enid...It's not a rule, and no it's for everyone."
"Whatever Wednesday, let's just go back home I don't feel like shopping today." Now she's pissed, and has a bad attitude. I might as well just sleep with Evelyn tonight.
