Enid's POV:

I slowly pushed open the door to Evelyn's room, she's still unconscious. And still no word on when she'll wake up, but I'm just happy she's alive.
I walked into the room, Wednesday on my heels. But instead of fully walking into the room, she stopped. Staying planted in the doorway instead.

"What's wrong?" I softly ask, trying to get her attention.

"I-I can't Enid," She stuttered out, breaking my heart.

"Can't what?"

"I've already had to watch you suffer, and I couldn't do anything to stop it, I-i was helpless. I'm not going to just sit here and watch her die, Enid, I can't do that." she cried out, while looking down at her hands.
She's never told me what happened after I got shot, all I know is that I was dead for two minutes before they brought me back. Every time I ask her she ignores me, saying it's not important. Or just moving on to a different subject.

"It's not your fault Wednesday, and you're not just here to sit and watch her die. You're here because she's your daughter, and I know damn well that when she wakes up the first person she's going to ask for is you. So I'm going to need you to calm down and come sit with me, okay?" she sniffled, while vigorously nodding her head.
I grabbed her arm, and led her over to the chairs sat by her bedside.

"I'm going to find Yoko, so why don't you just talk to her. I always liked it when you talked to me." she slightly smiled, as she took a hold of the tiny child's hand.
I walked out of the room smiling, I just need to hold it together. I can do that.

"Enid?" Yoko called out from down the hallway.

"Hey Yoko," I responded, while dragging myself over to her.

"Hey, is she okay?" Yoko asked, before pulling me in for a hug.

"She's alive, but they're not sure if that'll last for long. She's not even breathing for herself, there's machines doing it for her."

"She's strong Enid, she's going to be okay."

"Yeah, tell Wednesday that." I muttered, feeling a few tears slip down my cheeks.

"Wednesday for some reason always think things are her fault, she did the same thing when you got shot. She was having episodes, where she would cry so hard that she could barely breathe. She didn't eat, didn't sleep, all she did was sit by your bedside. It was depressing, for me and for her." Yoko replied, now I know why she never wants to talk about what happened.

"How's Divina?" I questioned, attempting to chance the subject.

"I don't know, she's still in surgery. But by the looks of it...uhm they said she's most likely not going to survive." She answered, trying not to cry.

"Oh Yoko-"

"No, i-it's okay. How about we just go see Evelyn?" She quickly said, cutting me off.

"O-okay," I mumbled, before turning to lead her back to our room.

"Hello Yoko," Wednesday softly said, not even turning to look at us.

"How the hell did you know it was me?"

"Who else would it be? Besides, I've been listening to the way you walk for the past 6 years now. I think I would know if it's you or the person I live with." She replied, her hands still wrapped around Evelyn's.

"Did anything happen while I was gone?" I asked, while walking behind her. Placing my head on her shoulder.

"Nothing with Evelyn no, but there was a doctor that walked in here looking for Yoko. Saying something about a surgery, I honestly wasn't paying any attention to what he was saying. He said he would be back in a second though." she mumbled, her eyes never leaving the bed in front of her.
I jumped softly by the sound of the door opening, revealing who we were just talking about.

"Hello, Mrs. Tanaka. I'm here to speak with you about your wife Divina."

"Speak of the devil," Wednesday whispered, while turning to look at the doctor.

"Yes?" Yoko questioned, clearly getting antsy.

"You may need to sit down for this," he said, nodding over to a chair in the corner of the room.

"What's wrong?" She asked, as she sat down. Her leg immediately starting to bounce.

"Divina, she... didn't make it through surgery. The bullet was too close to her heart, we tried all we could."

"W-what?" she mumbled, as tears started to stream down her cheeks.
I felt my face heat up, and my legs become wobbly. Hold it together Enid, they need you.

"I'm sorry Ma'am,"

"You should go now," Wednesday said, as she got up from her chair. "Yoko, look at me."

"I can't Wednesday, s-she's gone." Yoko cried, her head buried in her hands.
I was choking down sobs, before I finally let on slip out. Wednesday glanced back at me, her bottom lip between her teeth. I could tell she was choosing which one she should try and calm down first, and I think she let her heart take over. Because she left Yoko on the floor, walking over to me.

"No I-i'm fine, go-"

"Hush," She softly said, as she pulled me into her. "It's going to be okay, Yoko will be fine, she'll get over it." Wednesday mumbled into my hair, as my body trembled with sobs. "Enid I need you to breathe, okay? Yoko needs you, I need you." I nodded, while trying to slow my breathing.
"Are you okay?"

"Y-yes, I'll get there." I sniffled, pulling away from her. Her eyes are red, and there's dried tears on her cheeks. I force myself to swallow the rest of my tears, so I can talk to Yoko.
"Hey, Yolks."I started, not sure if she could hear me. "Could you look at me please?" I softly question, while kneeling down in front of her.

"What am I going to do," she sobbed, her head falling onto my chest as my arms wrapped around her.

"You're going to be just fine Yoko, I promise." I replied, while rubbing her back with my free hand.

"How do you know that?"

"Because you have me, Wednesday, and Evelyn. You can pack a bag and come stay with us for however long you want. And if the silence becomes too uncomfortable, you can even move in with us. Anything that will make you feel better."

"T-thank you, Enid."

"Don't thank me," I mumbled, before glancing back at Wednesday. She knows exactly what's going on in my head, and I know she's thinking the same thing.
